So many complaints about cost of production rising because of Middle east turmoil. What needs to be understood is that this is not going to be uniquely problematic for JLP. If anything it puts them in a better position than a very large number of other copper producers.
The shortage of both Sulphuric Acid and Diesel will impact everyone but some more than others. If it continues it could well lead to some producers going into C&M. Considering the world still needs large quantities of copper (especially for weapons including the ones currently being trashed by the US and Israel) the price will inevitably rise.
It would be interesting if, instead of moaning, someone did a careful analysis on the respective effects and costs this will have on JLP and other Cu miners and processors.
Since this morning however it is possible the straite will open to traffic and none of these factors will come into consideration to the same extent.
