Finding.... IM won't happen. If the SNIP reversal isn't going to cost that much taxpayers money, where's the data to tell me that? Oh that's right, it hasn't even been scoped out yet so doesn't exist.
Would you spend your own cash sending gas back to where it came from in the first place?
You'll still be talking about this in 5 years.
š
Thereās a difference with. Salt caverns on land and under the sea am no expert but I would have Thought it takes a lot less time , those machines they used on euro tunnel where huge !!
Nobby, bread and butter stuff for people in the industry š.
Nobby , yes a big conglomerate or j/v imho and 2-3years max to complete imho
Nobby31, 09:02. In Hebs case, heās just super egging his content to make it seem worse than it is. Itās pretty well much the same with all the doom mongers imo.
So do I (work in the industry) Heb. Your timescales arenāt correct. 2-3 years for first caverns to become operational. Theyāll be batch leached. Yes lots to do before this happens but in essence no different from any other large energy infrastructure project. Canāt see HARL doing it but Shell might!
It wonāt take that long imho watch next week
Consuela, 08:37. You seem to acknowledge that IM is going to happen! And SNIP reverse isnāt gonna cost that much! Iāve told you a million times not to exaggerate:)
Hebredian9. Might most of us already know that it takes years to dig out the salt caverns and create a gas storage facility?
My point is that the people of Ireland have started kicking back against the globalist fanatics and aren't going to take another winter of extreme energy prices well.
ATB, FG
Don't forget the SNIP reversal, that's another squillion pounds ( of taxpayers money ) which will need another PC....
So exciting!.....
FG 08:14 - If the outcome is positive for HARL the caverns will not be storing gas this winter! The infrastructure and brine hollowing of the initial caverns will take 4 - 5 years, plus Ā£650+m investment required. (Stokey before you ask about facts, I used to work in the industry).
Ok thanks
Bridgedogg1 ref 08.08 post yes bu it is not an appeal as of right you would need leave of the Supreme Court to bring it and that is not a given.
Bridgedogg1. Yes, there's scope for one more appeal, but it ain't happening. The price of gas will likely explode this winter (we aren't likely to have two mild winters on the bounce).
Ireland needs gas storage facilities. There will be no further delays!
Am I right there is scope for 1 more appeal for IM?
98% seems to be a regular fig. with GMB Amazon + Network gas were the same.
Am buying today more shares gla
Another day closer to a positive IM court ruling. Im guessing that we will get an RNS after the result , giving details of positive interest by companies in IM. Imagine a bid around Ā£100m and the effect that would have on the SP.
First of all it clearly states itās just Belfast.
Secondly, a vote in favour of strike action isnāt a strike. There hasnāt been a pay offer yet and there are more meetings to come including todayās, therefore there may be no actual strike.
Thirdly, if itās just a small short strike, is it likely to have a real impact on Harl operations?
The real concern is that there is a vote in the first place. Someone has dropped the ball and needs to sort it out.
Stokey. Might it be a deliberately misleading article preparing the way for The Mother of All Tree-Shakes 2.0?
Somebody appears to want our shares and a whole host of "independent" Journalists appear minded to help them!
Might the UK be going the same way as the United States in turning into a Third World crap hole?
I have a question this 98% vote what is the 98% of? As I see it there are a number of possibilities:-
98% of the people voting
98% of the members of the union
98% of the employees at Belfast
98% of all HARL employees
Depending which of these it is you canot tell how much support there actually is.
News typo apologies
Expecting some red this morning on this front from JW
According to Politics.co.uk:
"Kevan Jones was first elected as the Labour MP for Durham North in 2001, being reelected in 2019 with a majority of 4,742. Born in Nottinghamshire in 1964, Kevan Jones is the son of a miner. He went to a comprehensive school in Worksop and graduated in government and public policy at Newcastle Polytechnic.
Prior to being elected to Parliament himself, he had worked as as parliamentary assistant to Nick Brown MP. He also worked for the GMB Union as a political officer, regional organiser and finally as a senior national organiser."
Bet you couldn't guess who was an elected officer of the GMB Union in their early career.
Just sayin'
