Some quite decent size lots being taken at FTC.
The Huawei issues have certainly brightened up things on the Filtronic front and brought the company much more into the focus of the many who have been unaware of them in the past.
I'm a newby here, just doing some initial research but I notice a distinct lack of board members technical qualifications in the company's core product market - radio telecommunications. They seem to be more focused on the 'blue light' sector rather than commercial mobile so would need to tie up with one of the big three (Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung) to take advantage of the 5G roll out.
Not pumping this but thought after the recent government annoucements this could sky rocket - sorry will pull myself back lol
Some positive news mentioned in the House of Commons yesterday. Now that Huawei is out of the picture, hoping these guys are best suited to the challenge of 5G ahead now.
What would FTC fetch if consolidated?
I think we will see a consolidation in the semiconductor market as large vendors are gearing up their mmWave capabilities for markets such as 5G. Recent announcement by Qorvo on acquiring Custom MMIC.

All my shares.....constantly letting down shareholders and don't see much on the horizon...best of luck
Like I said, very poor,BUT expected!!!
Added few on the back of the intial drop earlier, this stock is going to recover in the near term and beyond....IMHO.
Always expected poor interims....the company only now start to recover from 2 years from hell....(hence the current SP....)draw a line, and move on,it can only get better (hence the latest contracts wins....) will be a slow recovery, but they are certainly over the worst....IMHO.
They don't have any reading the balance sheet.
Interims disappointing with no immediate upturn until ye 2021 - some positives on the horizon for next year and the sale will reduce debt enabling FTC to focus on core markets.
max - agreed. I am sure that by announcing these 2 together they will hope the message begins to filter through to the wider market
Contracts wins....and will help,BUT, they need more of the same to make a real impact on the SP....YET, signs are there that they maybe about to gain the industry trust...again.
Post on ADVFN shows a gap into 15p. Looks like building momentum towards that. If/when legal have finished selling (will Dixons buy more?) then it should go pop.

Well, the breakout is not just started,it's well underway for a while now...
Again....at last double diggit SP ...long it may continue.
The share price is flat. We need good news such as takeover.
Indeed...expecting some positive news to cement this good demand for shares...
There's some good confidence showing for the future in FTC.
The Chairman explained the issues regarding the mMIMO setback. Their client Nokia-was in discussions with a US Telecoms company in relation to supply. There was then discussions between that company and another over an amalgamation which delayed decisions. The 2nd company works on different wavelengths This has now gone for anti competitive challenge-which may take time! FTC do not have the resources to sit on that and hence the decision to sell. This was pure bad luck imo. This issue was then compounded by the warranty setback-cost $2m but the customer has not been lost and the relationship is moving on. This is reflected in the order book being $10m + and the company spending $1.3m to expand capacity-plus recruit staff.
The CEO search is in process and the new candidate will have sector/tech expertise. Rob was an accountant and was the right man at the time but they now feel they have sufficient financial resources. The sale process of the antennae side is ongoing.
A positive for me was the arrival of a new NED-a qualified engineer; ex ARM; involved in advising on new tech companies.
I continue to hold with a "core" holding
a few things going on in the background
1. new CEO awaited
2. Mr & Mrs Dixon's holding
3. Legal & General holding
4. investors now getting over the "difficult past year"
5. new contracts with the company they settled an action with
combination of above. Guesses and speculation as always..
Just sentiment for now
Who rattle the cage here? ??..
Leak/news ..
