From Colin Q & A on the ODX LSE thread
"Avacta is not one of the potential partner companies with a DHSC approved lateral flow antigen test that the DHSC has facilitated discussions with."
Surely this is priced in now
It is.
For the optimistic of us; ODX’s response to that question is bound by Avacta not currently having an approved test. In line with recent changes to validation procedures, that could soon change.
Indeed, in 18 working days or less!
Is it even relevant? GAD and Abingdon manufacture for us......already validated and on sale under its CE mark at Calibre/Bioserve.
I would be curious to know if the TT for the AffiDX GAD / MOL DESIGNED/Developed LFT could be complete already and ready to be manufactured by ODX?
AS said that GAD were already in an advanced state of manufacture for the final affidx test.
And the poster posting the answers is "questionable" to say the least
Q47: Will ODX make the Avacta AffiDx test for the U.K. Gov? And if so, how long would tech transfer take for this product?
Avacta is not one of the potential partner companies with a DHSC approved lateral flow antigen test that the DHSC has facilitated discussions with.
Q180: Is Colin able to comment on the accidental Linkedin profile update by an Omega member of staff that stated that they were working on LFT manufacturing for Avacta Group? It is strange that neither Avacta or Omega have confirmed / denied regarding this despite the information having made it's way into the public domain seemingly in error.
Our colleague had done some small scoping work with Avacta but there was no formal agreement and no agreement has been reached since. It has no relevance to the performance or expected performance of the business and so there is no need to disclose anything.
The question regarding the Omega Linkedin staff member post was me. Surprised they answered it to be fair.
Omega answered 230 questions in total MrA.
Q181: Will Colin be upgrading his Shed in Scotland to a state of the art manufacturing facility worthy of suppling Avacta’s gold standard Affidx test.
We have been plodding around for 18 months in our Shed and the board and myself are pretty fond of this Shed.We have just had it creosoted and are growing some Tomato’s at the back. Why should we move to a state of the art manufacturing facility to manufacture foook all.
:)
Today following the tradition of ODX releasing news and the share price going up. Must be honest I wouldn’t have put money on a 10% rise the day we have it confirmed that “it’s not us”!
Which Government minister was it that stated we needed a sovereign test, who was it that first used that phrase ?
It’s great news as it confirms that the downside risk of not being the sovereign test was already baked in (must admit that I expected a dip when this happened) and to get a rise on the same day is a very positive sign.
I don’t see how this excludes us from the DHSC, Just because Omega won’t be sticking them together.
Perhaps not, it just takes away a piece of “bad” news from the near term horizon. DHSC speculation looks like it’s just upside now.
Exactly Zoom. Far too much fixation on ODX. They’re contracted for 2m units/month. It’s gone on that long, they communicate as though they are part of HMG.
I liked the answer on re the LinkedIn profile. Clear to me they couldn’t do what GAD have done for us. Probably why they can’t make our test on behalf of HMG.
Of course they could make our test beinthelead. Notice also the answer to the que will it be affidx was not NO but effectively a definitely NOT NOW. If Govmt goes with Avct as one of the tests they purchase ODX could be making it in the autumn or winter.
I&B - the evidence suggests they can’t, or are not preferred. GAD can, and are. Your autumn comment is speculative. It’s matter less anyway @ 2m/month.
So ODX are not making Avacta test.
Will UK govt only buy test that are made by ODX - implies ODX acting as the govt manufacturing division?
Are ODX able to set price of govt test -maybe, like others there costs and therefore Avactas were too high - see BBI
RorkesDrift..."UK govt only buy test that are made by ODX."
You are probably mistaken .... AS recently said he wanted to create more overseas manufacturing to free himself from government loaned equipment. If not ODX then GAD is a government contractor. IMO.
Yep - apologies for the Socratic reasoning
I agree with you
Avacta hasn't done a TT with ODX do why would they be a manufacturer of our test.
Abingdon and Mologic/GAD are the only two which have been confirmed by Avacta with others being looked at/in discussion with mainly overseas.
