Some posters wished for Al to go - he’s gone.
Some posters are wishing for a takeover as a means to get a lifesaving drug to market as quick as possible and hopefully to give them a large early return on their investment.
Al’s departure certainly clears the way for a takeover and I can’t help think that CC and her buddy have been parachuted into Avacta as part of the forthcoming deal.
But what is the point of a takeover ?
Avacta needs money resources and the stability and everything else that a bigger company can provide.
Novis would be getting another string to its bow in the attack on cancer, hedging its bets to some extent, and a new technology that can be leveraged in some of its developing solutions. Everyone’s a winner.
What do you think we are worth to the buyer? Consider this: 50p plus 50p’s worth of shares in the taking over company. That would still be a hefty mark up on today’s closing SP and a good premium on the recent fund raise.
What do you think the takeover deal will look like?
Touk, so reading between the lines you think 100 is a good takeover deal?
second post on a low takeover. no, 100p would be ****, it's worth far far more than that and everyone invested knows it. we were enjoying a quiet day without horse****.... are you hired by lse to generate traffic?
Not for me. But it would suit Avacta, CC, Novis and the IIs. Quickest way to get it all going. I said when CC joined that she’d been parachuted in by Novis.
What do you think is a realistic takeover deal?
Hard to put a price on this technology, sentiment is the reason for the current low share price so you can’t really use the current share price as a starting point. It’s what someone is willing to pay for it at the end of the day. I think we will get a better idea on figures once Avacta releases the next drug candidates in the pipeline. That will give further clarity on what can be achieved, until then I don’t think they will entertain offers as our cash runaway is very good and we will want to hit clinical milestones first to get more data to negotiate with. Put it this way it will likely be high multiple billions in the future if everything goes well not the hundreds of millions. That’s my estimate imo.
Best parallel ,M& A at stage 1 …then $1-2 bn , increasing thereafter ,subject to continued tech success.
If a decent ( any) offer emerges it’ll be already punted . Pharma a club,
GLA
I’d love them to hold off until start of P2 but the recent BoD shuffle and specific skill sets makes me feel that Autumn is more likely.
When Al said the equivalent of don’t worry about funding with a wry smile it kind of makes you think that the writing was on the wall already.
Anyway arm 2 is the key for me.
Yes sentiment is very low and somebody still seems to have plenty to sell into any signs of a rise. Obviously that can change ever so quickly and we suddenly get a +10-20% day out of nowhere.
I was personally sad to see AS leave the company completely after all these years of great effort, will we ever know the full story? Probably not. My rose tinted specs which have let me down so badly on this one hope it was because deals were there for the taking and he was stubbornly following his own dream path for the next 5 years.
What is a shame is that I know I would now happily take £5 per share for a full takeover when in April 2021 when we hit 290p I was more thinking £20 minimum. I suppose it depends on your current circumstances but the sooner we get AVA6000 to market the better for shareholders and certain cancer sufferers alike.
If we really do have something so unique, the sooner it's unlocked the better and if BP can push it through at a much faster pace then so be it. GLA
Crowfoot
Agree entirely with your post and the underlying sentiments.
"..but the sooner we get AVA6000 to market the better .."
This imo is not the major driver, but rather the broader commercialisation of the Pecision platform which we are tolď is now proven and ready to be commercialised subject to negotiation.
Forgot to add I would also like to hear more from new CEO Christina Coughlin over the next few weeks to give us shareholders something to get excited about in the short term. She stated she's committed to delivering value for shareholders. This needs to get started asap otherwise it's just more AS style hot air. GLA
I'd get excited about Arm2 C1 completing but then my threshold for excitment here is pretty low.
If anyone is curious, details about Novis can be found here: https://www.linkedin.com/company/novis-pharmaceuticals-llc/
Well said crowfoot my sentiments exactly although I have thrown the rose tinted glasses away and replaced them with binoculars to see if anything is on the horizon.
As soon as a 50 plus 50p dream was even thought of someone else would outbid it because it's useful to many BPs. And so on until they start to think it's a bit pricey and then the outbidding will stop. We do not have just one potential buyer, there are more than a couple that would benefit both for themselves and to prevent a competitor from having the platform.
Buen
I should have checked that first🤣🤣🤣🤣

Many on here keep repeating “it’s all about the science”. I keep repeating that the TO when it comes is not about the price. The current shareholders are going to be heavily influenced by the BoD and the deal will be with the company that offers the best fit with Avacta and above all can take in Avacta as an almost autonomous department maybe even subsidiary so that the lead players can continue to quickly produce a pipeline of lifesaving drugs. IMHO of course
Touk I doubt very much whether the board could influence the PIs who I am guessing hold a substantial amount of avanta irrespective of the the raise + HCI. Many PIs are quite pi ss ed off and if a suitable offer came to bear imo the PIs would stick 2 fingers up and get out. If £5 was offered now avacta would be no longer
I'm hoping you're wrong CJ but most likely right. I haven't held for this long for £5 quid but probably won't have a choice if it came to it.
With the sp still flat on its back post-AS departure, the first RNS of the new CC-broom will take on extra significance and look through.
Cj62....I think Avacta's board would welcome a bid at £5 per share, from a serious player, as it tells the world that player certainly believes in pre|CISION. I also think a second bid would then appear within less than 24 hours.
£5 is £18 billion .
Are you serious?
Timster, only out by a factor of 10.
