russia have this tied up... they have the final say. there are no western companies that can take it. it's a carve up but at least you'll get a couple of the slices.
every company that goes bust is 'worth' £millions. but not the number of £millions that covers most pi's investments. lthers would rather have nothing and imagine a day when the war ends, economies improve and the new political cold war thaws out. don't know about you but if i buy into this, i don't have 10 years to see improvements. plus, where's all the new money going to come from to 'revalue' the company? it's telling that lthers have lost so much money (which is a miserable state to be in) but still imagine, with the same logic, that all this can come together to be 5p again or better,, one day! as if it's all just a game of bluff with russia.
If you vote No your shares will be worthless.
AMC will need to raise to fund the company and any licence requirements.
The Russian Govt could seize the asset for national security reasons, who is going to invest in Russia again, no funding for development and retail investors aren't going to want to fund.
Best option is to vote YES.
Or rebuy shares now and you get 1.8p
This is worth much more than $35m and RY should sit out the war and wait if he’s unable to find alternative buyers now. Let Sviblov sweat on it, and if he wants it so bad then he can up the offer. I don’t understand the pressure to sell now other than the BoD’s apparent wish to throw in the towel.
that last vote, in spite of ridiculously low turnout, has maybe spooked trading? until sentiment becomes more reluctantly accepting, don't see much happening, beyond profits being taken at lower levels.
Macdonald walked away and what did russia do with the shops they made russian equivalent.
Svidlov knows hes getting a great deal as he knows western companies will not able to get finance for the project most banks are sanctioned.
Too much risk to take for a no vote.
there's some fanciful belief that life is normal in russia, regarding western companies. frankly, the company's lucky to be getting anything. at least there's a chance, at these levels, to make up some losses by buying. 'course, if you're pished off at the history of the company one could vote to cut one's financial nose off to spite your face. not sure what satisfaction there is in that? if you want to know what it's like owning shares worth zero (but at least having the certificates still) just ask folk who still own FRR, SXX or a host of other companies. if there's a no vote then, happy days, you'll be able to pick up shares at 0.5 or better/worse. then you can fill your boots for that 'next offer'. wouldn't hold my breath though. and very much doubt anyone would be buying except pocket money totals.
The russian govt may only accept the cut price offer for amc asset.

With regards to Kinross the government of russia refusef for it to be sold for $680m and stated a price of $340m.
why is it £35 million only and not £35 million plus £70 million over several years, a better version of the original offer?
what a rip off, i am voting no, and i am betting on another offer being made despite what has been said, which is slightly more than what was said along with the first offer, i am emigrating anyway due to circumstances which make the only option for me as things are ( not money reasons) .VOTE NO i want the 105 million offered before but with a better payment structure...35million up front about 2p a share and the rest in a reasonable amount of time, plus a new amur minerals asset...that is it....im done...period.
katstrangler
only 22% of shares voted for the deal, most were they long termers, i think this time around the board along with the buyer will have the votes.
Lets see..
there are those who bought the below 1p dip and for whom 1.8/2.4 would be a bagger. and then there's lthers who bought at anything from 2p up to 20p. for them this is almost being wiped out so they want to vote as if it's sh** or bust. for them , unless their holding is still in the £000s, they don't even see the 40% bump as anything to rave about. that they could add here to make another 40% doesn't make them happy as it implies they have held too long with a wayward research as far as the end result.
personally, i'd be keen to take this sp but only if sentiment moves positively. juess it'll depend on if the lthers decide to average down for a 1.8 price or get indignant and would rather get zero than almost zero.
Good riposte, TDT - it's so easy, too easy, to chortle about our short comings but against the totalitarian regimes in the world, they're so much worse, as many 'refugees' risking life and limb to get here would undoubtedly testify - sasa.

"Halabja, Gerrad Bull, Sheffield Forge Masters. We know what had been sold to Saddam, we knew what he had used on his own people and during the Iran/Iraq war, we knew the capability he was trying to develop. In legal terms is caused probable cause.
I sleep fine."
So now we are making excuses for the british govt, that wasnt the reason given for war was it, we are not police of the world and the iraqis didnt ask us for help. You sleep well cos non of you family members were a casualty of war. Ask all those who lost loved ones and kids orphaned for a war they didnt want or ask for.
"Putin's approach is if you know there's going to be a fight throw the first punch. I guess you don't have a problem with Putin's philosophy?"
No i dont, because we all remember what we were taught about cuban missile crisis, US didnt allow Russian missiles so close to its territories, they were even prepared to use nukes. Why should Russia accept US missiles close to its borders? US has been funding dangerous biolabs in Ukraine, so again russia is justified in invading ukraine, we used the same excuse in Iraq but there were no dangeous bioweapons.
" If that's true why do so many people in these countries risk life and limb to get to the west?"
Very simple answer, we rape their countries, we destroy their countries, we steal their resources and countries have totally collapsed Syria, Libya, Yemen, Iraq, Afghanistan the list goes on. Why did many europeans emigrate to USA?
"Playing the race card is the last desperate attempt of the vaccuous."
You probably born in era where Britain had influence, now the only influence we have is by being a poodle to USa and do as they wish. When we in the west respect everyone as equals maybe then the world will be fairer.
TKOTM
anything under 1.8p is cheap, the egm is on 24th Aug, some will be selling who have purchased under 1p but imho proxies will be buying shares to get the votes. I think the resolution will pass and company sold
This is set to rise tomorrow. Many PI's would have been caught out by the non-7am RNS.
Weekend gave us all time to digest. Offer should set a floor for the Yes's and the No's should be buying in as they think its worth even more.
"Remember the iraq war where over 1m died on false pretence....."

If you think all nations are equal in the way they operate, are run, their values similar then your deluded. In the same way that it was right to challenge, fight and defeat Nazi Germany the mistake that was made there was in failing to challenge them sooner. Putin's approach is if you know there's going to be a fight throw the first punch. I guess you don't have a problem with Putin's philosophy?
"Likewise ppl in their countries are use to how they live." If that's true why do so many people in these countries risk life and limb to get to the west? You're just one of these typical liberal cheese eating surrender monkeys that sucks up the liberties and freedoms in the west while running down the system you indulge in from some self-constructed moral high.
"The statement by you has a little racism in it implying we cant trust other nations but we can ours." Really! A nation is not a race and these days its rarely possible to define most nations by race. Playing the race card is the last desperate attempt of the vaccuous.
You really need to try and come up with something a little bit more nuanced. From reading your posts I some how doubt that's within your capabilities.

See i dont buy that, we live in western country and im use to the statua quo. Likewise ppl in their countries are use to how they live. We cannot judge, there will alway be a minority in every country who dont like how their countries are run, that doesnt give us a right to invade them.
With regards to Gaddafi you didnt trust him, well have you considered the libyans trusting us. If we can have dangerous weapons then they can too.
The statement by you has a little racism in it implying we cant trust other nations but we can ours. Like we are above them..
Remember the iraq war where over 1m died on false pretence, you sleep fine with that. Now if libya did what he did he would have been called the new hitler.
So, if you want moral high ground dont have these weapons then others wont too.
The issue is much simpler than that. It’s simply a case of preference. Would you prefer to live in a Western democracy or an Eastern dictatorship? The issue of who did what is irrelevant.
As for Libya Gaddafi sealed his fate when he considered buying what Abdul Qadeer Khan was offering. I don’t know about you but I’m glad we don’t have the equivalent of a North Korea on our doorstep.

"Nato is a defensive alliance" ok, when they bombed the f out of Libya was that defensive?
Listen, my point was Nato countries sanctioned Russia, the organisation itself didnt do it but nato was the reason why all countries in the treaty sanctioned russia.
You mentioned Japan they rely on west ok but the rest of the world still didnt sanction russia. Its a power grab going on the west are losing power and influence in the world.
My facts are fine thanks, I was simply pointing out that NATO does not sanction any country and the term NATO used in your context was wrong.
What about JAPAN? they are in the rest of the world and they sanctioned Russian banks
NATO is a defense alliance. "The North Atlantic Treaty Organization"
so less of the Lololololol you sound like a child.
Nato countries are western countries and they are the ones that sanctioned russia. The rest of the world didnt. So you get your facts state. All nato countries sanctioned russia.
Lololololololol
Get your facts straight mate NATO don't sanction.
Who are nato? The whole west? Get that in your head mate..
"Nato stole russian foreign reserves and have put strong sanctions on them" Really? NATO?
