Is one allowed to get an alcohol drink package and the other person only a soda package.?
I helped a few people with that on Royal, and managed to get "around" the rules there.
I know why they insist on the two people, because obviously you get two glasses of wine, 10 minutes apart, and drip feed the other persons wine glass.
People seem outraged on the Facebook groups, as far as I can tell I can buy a bottle from room service for about the same price as Tesco. As it’s duty free to them, I guess there is about £20 profit per bottle to them.
I don’t see it pushing people to drinks package, wish they’d allow one person to get a package in the room. My wife might knock back enough to get her moneys worth, but I won’t
In five weeks Ken on the Celebrity Apex doing the baltic's, unfortunately my drinks have been claimed by a friend and they get $250 onboard spend as well from our booking. 🤑
AParky, Let me know your next one😉 K
We are Elite members on Celebrity, we get 2hrs of drinking each day between 5 and 7, I offload mine to friends and family if any are traveling with us.
Al
My Pinnacle Drinks, yes, i.e. the 6 drinks a day, anywhere on the ship.
The Casino drinks, officially, no, but I always use a Server, so if I'm with someone that has to pay for their drinks, I will ask them what they want, then just order that drink from the Server for "me".
In the casino however, 99.9% of the people get free casino drinks anyway, as most people have achieved the lowest rating of Prime, which is very easy to achieve.
Seriously, if you want "free cruises", the Royal casino program is by far the easiest and the best on the market, In my view.
Bots, Can you give the drinks to others? K
On Royal, for years, it's been two bottles per stateroom. Lots of people THINK it's two bottles per person, which is incorrect.
I don't drink, but I get unlimited alcoholic drinks in the casino, and 6 free drinks anywhere else on the ship, per day.....
and all I do is drink tea, and pee all day.........

Ken, totally agree as in one of my comments yesterday about pushing customers to other brands. Particularly as it will be impossible to police at embarkation. I guess easier to police at port stops but can you imagine the nightmare and storage issues following a stop in Gibraltar!
IWHF. If it results in regulars , fed up with the penny pinching , jumping ship, then it might be considered ill advised.
Would we buy 2 large G&Ts and 2 Scotches in the bar before dinner? No and their drinks package is not worth it for us. K
And........
Win in the casino of course.!
Funny old game is human nature!
In order to increase the value of the share price we all want CCL to make efficiency saving, tighten loop holes to reduce waste/increase profits and maximise on board spending (43 percent of overall income), yet we don't really want it to directly effect our personal cruising.
Like I said human nature is very interesting!
Hi K,
Hope you had a good w/e.
Doesn’t all luggage go through a scanner already? Having said that, using a “Chilly” or similar might help.
B
Bhants, Imagine them policing 5000 pax each with a bottle of spirit kn their luggage.
Check in might take a while.😉
Been doing that for while…….oops🤓
B
Sorry 2x2 bottles, I've just been corrected by the alcohol police😅
Oh and just to clarify I don't drink 🙄
Royal are a lot stricter, we did a back to back in Australia 2x4 bottles, no madam only 2 bottles allowed, well you can guess which way that fracas went, 4 bottles eventually went onboard. 👍
Wish someone would tell my wife, six bottles of wine in her hand luggage every time, always says the same, people doing security don't work for P&O.
She ends up paying after the first night when it's all been supped
Gin in the water bottles then😉
Agreed as it will push more cruisers towards a Drinks package which are more profitable than pay as you go with carry on. Just hope it doesn't push passengers towards non Carnival brands.
Another door close and another increase in revenue…
Every little helps…..
Significant changes to Drinks Package pricing and policy of what can And can't be taken on board for 'cabin' consumption. Particularly noticed No SPIRITS allowed to be taken on board and only 1 litre of wine or champagne on first embarkation only.
