To an uncomplicated small time Investor in this Share, I and probably many others would appreciate if you could spell out precisely what your comment means.
Totally agree - can't see much happening for the next year, at least.
I have said on this Board for at least 10 years that Abrdn is a plodder. I have held and added to since de-mutualisation many years back and I stand by that moniker. I wish I had the optimism of saintly but for now I shall stick to Hold. Whether its re-branded name is working or not my Jury's out. There are others who say Aviva and Tui have weathered that storm by re-branding but the difference between them and Abrdn is that you can at least pronounce their re-branded name. In the meantime, I shall continue to hold my shares but it will take some miracle for me to consider increasing my holding just yet.
Is this the most boring share in the world? Nothing much ever seems to happen.
Soon to settle around 220 for quite a while before rising further.
Here is hoping that 2023 see's a steady but decent rise in share price. Not going to set targets but I would like to see a decent rise for ABDN. Continued good luck to all on this board be you investors, potential investors or those just watching. Good luck and success to one and all. Per ardua ad astra!!!! Rgds Saintly
looks like ABDN found a trading range 180p - 210p for now
Bit of a pull back prior to the next move up to 2.70 imo.
Jupiter, I have a few funds with them and they enerally perform poorly.
However the company is well run and creams the fee income out regardless of investor returns.
I don’t mind it going back down. I would like to sell some of my other shares and buy more here . I won’t buy unless it’s nearer 160 though , myself
Does anyone know much about Jupiter?
yes but from 131.80p to 215p+ was a rise of 63% in the 45 days prior.
Depends whether you caught the lift up or the lift down. Was due a correction after a strong run.
Sub 170 is my add if it gets there and in these markets it probably will.
Down 30p in last 7 days !
Great article!!
ABDN does have some expertise with other partners in ABDN network.
Let's hope third party contracts are secure for all parties.
Does help to reduce housing shortage in convenient locations / plays off JLP property freehold portfolio.

If you invest in a shares ISA you don't pay tax. you can invest 20k in a year
This government doesn't want small investors in companies ---so instead of limit of dividends liable to tax -£2000 will next yr be £1000 then will be only £500 the yr after -- they don't want people to invest who only have small funds -- and want a bit extra income - those with millions to invest not affected - they pay anyway -- which is what they want --- but this government hates the poor getting a bit richer - but this will rise anyway
FTSE 100 expected to open lower on Friday ahead of US non-farm payrolls later in the day which will provide further evidence as to the state of the health of the US economy.

personally I believe the shorts made a concerted effort yesterday thinking that abdn were not going back into the ftse 100. probably thinking of their positions more today in light of how yesterday panned out. Interesting times ahead :))
Still 5.6% shorted by 7 funds. Might expect some reduction/closure of those positions before December 19th, but trading usually thin around that time.
Index changes also matter from an ETF and index fund flow point of view: FTSE 100, 250 and All Share trackers have to adjust to changes whenever they’re made.
Asset managers also have to buy and sell stocks to make sure they match the benchmark. And as the FTSE 100 is generally more liquid than other indices, inclusion in an index tends to boost flows into a particular stock. As more money moves into passive funds, index changes become more significant over time.
Greater liquidity means that buy and sell prices tend to be closer together (the bid-offer spread), meaning that it’s easier for investors big and small to enter and exit positions.
