Rumours where wrong Bloomberg reporting Abrdn back in the FTS 100
looks like the FTSE is heading to 8k if the FED does not spook the markets this evening.
Had to buy back spme pf my position as I sold out at 212+, never like to be without these as there is always a bid potential. From 138 to 212 plus the dividends. 1st tranche repurchased 192 on the basis of if Powell shafts the markets tonight it will be temporary as the improving inflation outlook is going to lead to market equity spikes to year end.
Reading that the outflows have been stemmed and the inflows are recovering well.
FTSE 100 at 7600 i was expecting this to happen at Christmas , early present for me then ,

ah ok I thought that but when I saw grahamsturman's post I was unsure as ABDN mkt cap was within top 90 yesterday.
yesterday was the cut off
current prices it is WEIR BEZ and ABDN in 3rd (just) in and HBR DECH out.
ICP is holding off ABDN at the moment and keeping it out at is still remains inside the the top 110 by mkt cap.. A rally by DPLM will see ABDN save but who knows.
It the cut off the close today or when?
according to investing .com it's their earnings results
Abrdn to miss out on return to FTS 100
oh the reshuffle. .....what time is that announced? COP today?
FTSE Russel?
?what results
Thanks. Fingers crossed!
They are releasing results today maybe someone knows something
What have I missed that would explain 3% drop at open this morning? Surely not due to RNS on purchase of own shares?
Abrdn appears likely to make a return to the FTSE 100 club of leading publicly quoted companies only three months after being ejected from it.
The recent sharp rise in the fund management group’s share price, which has improved by 61 per cent to 214p from a low point of 133p in early October, puts it on track to qualify for re-entry when FTSE Russell, the index compiler, does its final calculations based on values tomorrow.
fingers crossed for return to FT100 next time
Volcano > Yes another good day 58p to go and the 270 target is in sight once back up in the FTSE 100 League it's time to shine with the tracker/institutional investors adding more buying demand.
TOP NEWS: abrdn tipped to return to FTSE 100, Harbour to drop out
Wed, 23rd Nov 2022 06:22
(Alliance News) - A short time after being booted out of London's flagship stock market benchmark, abrdn PLC may return, according to indicative index changes provided by FTSE Russell on Tuesday.
The way the share price is going next reshuffle ABDN could be back in FTSE100
Fact is as it stands there is no special dividend. That much cannot be disputed.
I assume the question here is what their intentions are with regards to the capital raised via the recent minority stake sales.
History would suggest they prefer buybacks over specials but as the last chunk of cash from the Phoenix sale is still being spent on buy backs there may be scope for a special this time around.
Or indeed it might be used to secure the dividend going forward or for a small bolt on acquisition. There has been no formal comms on any of that and I wouldn’t expect any until the finals or a pre finals trading update (rare for abrdn) next year.
The SP speaks its own langue and so far the past 4 weeks have seen a solid buying volume increase which has not been seen in this size for years so something is cooking let's hope it tastes as good as its smells. NB The technicians on this board may find the taking out of the 2009 low was an ideal buying spot. Next target 270 with a bit of luck. IMOO DYOR
I'm not saying they didn't tell you that. But them telling there would be or maybe without it being definite would be irresponsible if not illegal as it would be price sensitive information
borri If you think i'm telling porkies contact them yourself .
They wouldn't be allowed to tell you unless it was definite
I emailed ABDN last month ,There's no special dividend
