Svend, yes, you are right about Phoenix Group purchasing SL brand from Aberdeen (sorry, ABRDN as Stephen King wanted it to be known !!!!!) but wouldn't it be nice legally in the financial circles if the Purchaser was not able to simply rename it by its original name.

I'm with you driftking27 and I think broadly your thoughts echo mine. I was with SL since 2006/7 as I had 2 mortgage endowments with them and when they were paid off, SL offered me a load of free shares which of course I took and the love affair with SL started then. I had a lot of time for SL, then Aberdeen came along followed by dopey name changes. I see the SL advert on TV and I do miss those days.

My sincere apologies. I did not intend to offend and I am not aware that any of my previous posts provide "a pattern" as you say. But I do believe that all posts are up to personal interpretation. Anyway, despite being retired, I must have been having a bad day at the office on 3 March. So suggest we both put this behind us and hope for better days ahead for Aberdeen.

Hmmmmmmm. Lots on one liners from you as per usual. Does get a bit boring after a while. But do you know the one that jumps out at me is:

"Did not know they owned ii ." Are you for real? Q: How come you didn't know this? ii is a large part of what is currently holding Aberdeen up at the moment, especially in these turbulent times.

Re today finishes. How does 625K (vol sold) equate to £1.25m (sort of correct) whereas 2.41m bought only equates to £912k. I know I passed my Maths "O" level. I still have the Certificate to prove it !!!!

OK, dopey post and any responses in simple language please. Have been here since de-mutualisation since 2006 I think. I was always under the impression that the more shares purchased on one day as opposed to those sold usually meant the Price would go up. Makes sense to me anyway. So can someone please explain to me why more than 2.25 million shares sold as opposed to less than 0.5 million bought today can result in the share price increasing by nearly 3.00 pence? Simple answers please.

Couldn't agree more with your comments.. I've been in since de-mutualisation in 2006 I think and have topped up when the price is right for me.

I agree with spiderama's comment posted today at 15.08 and driftking27's comment yesterday may possibly be true but all that aside, my advice is just all hang in there, hold and keep the faith. It will all come good eventually. Not sure when though !!!!!

Now that SB has (in my opinion quite rightly) made his decision, (was he pushed or did he jump is unclear) I am somewhat perplexed as to why this SP continues to trickle downwards.

So well said. I have been in since de-mutualisation in 2006 I think. And boy was I chuffed from then up until SLA, and now ABRDN came on the scene to say I was proud to be invested with SL. But now I hold my head in shame with this shower. I will stay in for the Dividends but any lingering loyalty I had has now gone out of the window.

Yes, HOLD. Forget trying to make the quick buck, certainly with this Share and in these most unpredictable of times. My recollection is that on every posting I have made, even since the merger, my Opinion has been to HOLD and I shall continue to do that.

I agree. As well as holding Shares in Abrdn (nee Standard Life, oh how I miss those days!), I have had investments with St James's Place since 1995 and added to it over the years. I would not want SJP to have anything to do with Abrdn (not that they would anyway)

Yorkshireman, I entirely endorse your sentiments. Pointless speculating as to what may or may not happen with this share or indeed any others. I have been with Abrdn (nee SL) since de-mutulisation back in 2006 and have modestly added since then. I gladly accept my bi-annual dividends as they add to my pension and enable me to get away a couple of times a year with my equally aged mates for a few days. We're off to York for 4 days next month for a friends birthday so may have to invest in a canoe before getting there!

I'm with bori550 on this. I'm a LTH and seem to recall this happened a while back and although we all received a lump sum then, my holdings went down and I needed to buy more shares to bring me up to the original number that I held. I too would prefer a one-off special dividend but that it unlikely to happen.

Would love to agree with you volcano but as a Abrdn investor of old, sadly I like many others have witnessed too many false dawns over the years with this SP. It will be what it will be and although I have added more on 2 or 3 occasions since de-mutualisation all those years ago when it feels like dinosaurs still roamed the earth, I think I'll just sit back now and take the bi-annual dividends.
