As far as I am aware, from just 10 miles into "north of the border", none of the restrictions impact directly on any enterprise such as mining. Travel restrictions, for example, do not include the banning of journeys to and from work. Hotels will be shut, but that would not include accommodation for someone having to visit on business. Pubs will be shut and that might be a blow to mine workers unable to have a well-deserved pint at the end of a shift. But nothing ought - as far as I can see - to significantly affect the mine's own time-scales.

Or to be more precise, NOT at it. Long-term friends on here will recall the hair-tearing saga I had with Barclays over my SGZ Rights. Eighteen months it took to get them properly credited to my accounts!

Well, they're at it again! I - along with all other holders in the old company, Erris Resources - should be given shares, pro-rata, in the new company, Erris Gold Resources, according to the terms quite clearly laid out in the relevant RNS from the beginning of October. Do Barclays know about this? No. When I spoke to them on the phone, they hadn't a clue. But what made me REALLY angry is they made it quite plain, in as many words, that they weren't going to lift a finger to find out either. The onus was on ME to sort it out with EGR. With whom I've been in touch. Aiden at the company could not have been more helpful, and confirmed that certificates have been despatched to nominee accounts, and he cannot understand, any more than I, why other brokers have managed to deal with this... but not Barclays! I have copied his email, and the original RNS, to Barclays by 'snail mail'. THEY want you to communicate by webchat... Oh, No, No, No, No! I want a hardcopy written record!

Oh, and by the way, Miss Wemyss has raided the 'Temperance is Worthy in the Eyes of the Lord Society' funds for another little dabble today.

Let's all hope so. Now that I am in my deep twilight years, and seriously concerning myself with funeral plans and charity legacies, it's amazing to think that when I was first invested in SGZ my mum was still trying to wean me off a 'pusher' and get me to eat with a knife and fork :)

For a company that is almost within hours of the successful culmination of a decade of blood, sweat and tears. I'm not exactly expecting the share price to rocket to £10, but were it not for a few, desultory trades - as many sells as buys - this has rather less of the atmosphere of celebrating success at last than almost that of a share in suspension.

Scurrilous talk in the Dog & Duck has it that she has been spied of an evening standing under the lamp outside Mr Patel's shop. Disgraceful, to tarnish Miss Wemyss's good name thus, when the Grimms can confirm that she has been at bible study.

This unrelenting Sea of Red is very strange. I'm not even convinced by the argument about participants in the placing going for a quick profit. You must surely be very hungry for funds if you'd be as quick as to grab fourpence when you could make much more if you hung around a while. It makes you wonder how all these sellers would behave if they were investors in a company on the verge of failure.

Here in South Worcestershire we learnt with alarm of the discord at the Tyndrum end of the canal. From a distance of six feet in Mr Patel's shop Mrs Grimm told us that the Reverend is composing his sermon for Sunday on the theme of tolerance, understanding and compassion. Well that will make a change from being told we'll be Cast down into the Pit for our Sin and Devoured by Worms.

Hi R & Morar, what a great post, so much appreciated, thanks, and to M and everyone who ticked it up. Yes, it's come home to roost that I never married and had kids (and I had no siblings either), but that was my choice so I can't complain. And the bonding you can have with a dog is unique amongst the species. Both my last one, who sadly died too young, and my present one, really have been my best friends. This is a wonderful board, in a class of its own for friendship between people who are for the most part total strangers. Hi carliol, yes I see it as a "beacon of hope" too. Wouldn't it be just great if Altnaharra, Queen of the Isles, could mention the start of production in one of her 'daily briefings', as an example of the good things that can still be happening and a positive story for Scotland's economy? Too often she leaves me thinking about slitting my wrists!

Looking at this and Erris (which, like Mr R, I whittled down a bit to put more in here - wise move or daft?) the Dog's Trust and certain other canine charities look set to do reasonably well out of the "significant Scottish goldmining industry" after I'm gone. (I have absolutely no family. Zero. Zilch).

I must be the biggest offender on here when it comes to "not talking SGZ". Sorry. My world is one in which I'd find it intensely depressing to want to talk about nothing else than a company (even one in which I have been invested for 10 years and to which I am emotionally attached) 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks of the year.

Indeed, glen. One thing that is increasingly annoying me is our First Minister's habit of hinting at imminent "tougher restrictions" without coming out and saying what these will be. This has happened several times, like the latest restrictions on pubs, where she trailed this regime for at least three or four days before spelling it out. I think this is just bloody cruelty, to be honest. Has she no idea about, or concern for, people's mental capacity, which is already stretched like a tight wire to breaking point?
