Interesting that we didn't get an RNS about buyback yesterday.

The share price went up from the confidence they showed by a £250m share buyback. The company signalling that they felt the shares were undervalued.

easyJet seem unable to commit to this.

In summer jet2 had 8% more seats but only managed 2% growth so that was poor value. Fortunately the jet fuel price at European airports has been favourable so it's not a factor. They report increases in flight only which means decreases in packages but then report attractive yields on flight only.

Mixed bag and certainly not a disaster despite obvious issues with the UK market.

It's a clear read across to easyJet in my opinion. They will have solid but not sporty numbers.

Trojanhorce. Jet2 wasn't anywhere near their high. They were over £19.50 in just a couple of months ago.

Look at their previous updates, the tone is very similar to all of them. They are always cautionary. The have been warning of late booking for ages. Their numbers show expansion. Winter +8% on last year.

Whatever you want Mike. I am regional director for a very large group of hotels. I have 16 hotels in Mijas Costa and 4 in Portugal that I have global responsibility over. I report directly to the board. The group includes brands which are easy to find on easyJet holidays.

I have been in the business a very long time.

My portfolio is around €500k. I first bought easyjet in October 23 in quantity.

I spent £104k here today, 51k came from easyJet yesterday afternoon.

I don't care if you believe me or not, it's nothing to me.

This should open up in the morning and work through £15 during the day. Today's response to the update was quite ridiculous

Hopefully the share buyback took a huge chunk today. Crazy not to, it's been an awesome day. I spent £104k and well blue already.

I work in hospitality with hotels in Costa del sol and Portugal under my management. I don't see any product sales issues, summer 26 sales are up on last year. This summer was strong and exceeded last year. Málaga airport is at capacity and has committed to major expansion.

I disagree. I think 14.50 on close today. Traders aren't day trading they have much shorter windows. We'll see this over £16 within 2 weeks.

Last year was a great year and exceeding that by any margin will be a good performance.

I see economic pressure in the UK but it's not a disaster that's any different today to 3 months ago.

Currently people are still trading ebb and flow for small profits. It was good this morning. I made quick money but that is drying up now after that it will build

I expect this to close today above 14.50 and open up tomorrow. Interesting times.

We haven't seen any protests despite the press coverage. The resorts have all had record numbers this year. Málaga has committed to a massive airport expansion because they are beyond capacity.

There's been protests about availablity of housing but the focus is the cities where landlords have pushed up prices because of Airbnb. The Junta has revoked many Airbnb licenses and that's helped us massively as accomodation is squeezed.

The reality is the people want to live in the city centre but don't want to pay for that. Who can afford to live in London or Paris, it's going to be expensive.

Where I live most of the villas around are foreign owned and only occasionally occupied but the people unhappy don't want and can't afford villa living.

You can't say Jet2 news isn't significant to easyJet, they are the most like business. The Jet2 update was as I expected, the industry is cautious. I am surprised that they set winter growth at +8%. I expected flat to 2% for winter.

We are seeing strong demand for school holidays from the UK but the long term visitors are missing. Also lots of Brits have sold their holiday homes because of the 90 day rule.

I don't think it was downbeat. I think it was honest and reflects the economic uncertainty of current climate.

Last year was very good and sometimes just repeating very good is an achievement, many will not.

The UK is a tough market, it's clear here on the Costa del Sol that Brits are very scarce. In our hotels we have a demographic shift. We have easyjet holidays guests and they have been up on last year. We had a massive summer in southern Spain. I also cover Portugal and we were slightly down there.

The market enjoyed the buyback it was £14 at time of release and quickly peaked at £19.

I like buybacks because they have a compound affect, not just additional reward on one day.. I would like to see more as given the current short term nature of the gamblers it's perfect for lifting those shares washing around. I would like to see easyjet do the same.

I did well today on the waves 13.90 to 14.20, taking a nice slice each wave.

I expect to see it quiet now and the build back will start this afternoon. I wouldn't be surprised to see it above yesterdays close in a week or two.

Savage Jet2 had planned a 10% winter increase but are trimming to 8%. Seems cautious but realistic.

Rob that doesn't seem to be happening at Jet2 though. They are rightly cautious but they had a +2% summer on what was a record summer last year.

We'll see all providers trimming winter capacity, Jet2 are adding 8% this winter. Booking profiles are changing for sure and that will produce some bargains.

The UK economy is a disaster, it's clear to see.

Brexit and trump chaos make things very difficult.

Europe, well southern Europe continues to boom and visitor numbers just keep rising. Málaga are committed to a massive expansion now so they clearly expect the boom to run.

Insane pricing at open. Hopefully the buyback took a big chunk on open. The statement was quite rightly cautious but they had +2% from summer from 8% extra capacity which could have been much worse.

The UK economy is clear to see, we know it's in the toilet and Brexit is killing growth along with trumps chaos. It should come as no surprise to the market

Jet2 down 25%. Absolutely insane. Their share buyback will be mopping those up eagerly

Jet2 produced +2% from a +8% capacity until the end of August. Flight only is up strongly which they say produces attractive yields. Winter capacity is up 9% but much is still to sell. Last minute booking is becoming more common.

A cautious statement that's realistic given the UK economic situation.

I suspect easyjet are having a very similar experience. +2% is exactly where we are for summer 25.
