Dr Maze Jet2 is nowhere near their recent high, like £5 below. Jet2 are the most easyJet like share. They have a £250 buyback, it's not helping them any.

They have a very similar expansion program increasing their aircraft capacity more or less the same.

I am currently invested heavily in Jet2 after their massive plunge last week on a decent performance. They recover slowly now but £19 where they were a few months ago is a long way away.

I don't think that it's got much to do with easyjet. The sector is all under pressure despite decent figures and low jet fuel prices. The share price will catch a ladder soon, recently just snakes.

We have an interesting situation where ultimately ryanair are on a commercial suicide path and not positioned for growth. They are definitely dragging on the sector but this is a super opportunity for easyJet and jet2, especially easyJet though.

Ryanair new aircraft are adding just a few seats and they are mixing them into routes Apparently randomly. It creates big problems with the different configuration of some seats and ultimately the extra seats are empty often.

Ryanair are also very focused on external costs like the Aena fees. They have now acted upon that and will ultimately lose revenue and create opportunities. I don't understand ryanair thought process but it creates opportunities

Personally I would rather not pay the 0.5% tax on purchase transactions. Look at easyJet, massively undervalued on cash alone, the main market is way out of step.

UBS cuts Jet2 price target to 1,930 (2,000) pence - 'buy'

Airlines are down and defence stocks up. They are a counter pendulum and super sectors to play against eachother as a trading strategy.

It's rare both are up or down at the same time.

It's good to see the share buyback volume stepping up at these low price. Nearly half a million taken in 2 days are significant chunks given the volume traded and 205 million shares in issue.

It's frustrating with the share trading solidly above £15 that the post bell UT at £14.88 set the open price.

It's really something that shouldn't be happening because it sets a false baseline overnight for open.

Today they have taken a hit really on a loss of momentum. Obviously it'll be back through £15 fairly quickly but brings instant loss for anyone buying in at the end of the day. More often than not the UT is crossed below the prevailing price.

BAE is a defence company and you'll see that I am invested in BAE and have posted in that board. BAE moves largely counter to airlines which is why I trade them.

largely I trade between both sectors and that's allowed me to leverage my investment. I have held around 100k easyjet shares but currently it's much lighter valued around €80k. I moved to Jet2 heavily last week on the AGM news.

I don't hold IAG, I don't rate them as they are a multiple risk group, although they are doing very well. Soon one of those risks will land on the share.

I don't know where you got the idea that I thought British Airways was BAE. Have a look at BAE you'll see that I have posted about the contracts and about developments within the industry.

A simple bit of investigation would have stopped you looking like a fool but you did it anyway.

Hayley I don't understand why you say that to me. There were fewer shares in issue at £10. You can't live in the past. I don't see any poor management. The company is run extremely tightly and professionally. The holiday business has been built rapidly and is hugely successful.

If you think they are so bad why are you holding

They build in a level of disruption into their numbers. This year again the disruption was very small

RBC cuts Jet2 price target to 2,150 (2,200) pence - 'outperform'

This winter we'll see the long winter routes added last year reach maturity and they should add revenue because they will be largely easyJet holiday seats. It's much harder outside of Europe to arrange your own accommodation and transfers, most go with the package.

Yesterday I was looking at our August demographic breakdown. We are down on UK, Germany and France. Up on Belgium and Scandinavia. The numbers for those down were still strong. Our easyJet visitors were up 4%, I only have data on holidays but given the small overall drop our flight only must be down more than 4%.

I will ultimately hang on to half of mine. The rest I will move back into BAE and easyJet over the next week or so as we go back above £16.

November is the key data month and we'll see another event then in my opinion. Less drama than this one but similar. Fortunately the oil price is friendly and with the US heading into depression the oil price could be low for the foreseeable. That's really important because it makes reducing hedging values possible for several years to come.

Yes I buy more with them as well but many don't and it's then dead money for the business. Fewer shares in circulation gives benefit for years ahead

I took a profit on 10% of the shares I bought yesterday. It's going much higher but many times before I have regretted not selling down slowly. I will sell some more over £15 in due course

I don't know who gets excited about the divi. It's so easy to move money around and grab 12 dividends a year if you are so inclined. Share buybacks support long term holders.

Yes my thought as well, I guess it's to avoid volatility. Annoying when it's an obvious mismatch to events like yesterday.

The tone of the rns isn't unusual for Jet2. They produced a modest advance over summer on a great summer last year. They reduced the winter capacity to 8% over last year which is huge.

It's difficult to see what the market saw as so negative.

I suspect these events will become more common. I have seen them at easyJet also, decent figureset with disaster

If you look at the debt situation it makes no sense. They have a massive aircraft purchase plan, almost identical to Jet2 in like for like. They are also doing it for the same reason to reduce costs and add significant extra seats.

Easyjet did raise money with shares during the pandemic and others didn't. That would be a good place to start in my opinion. It only rewards the LTH.
