I never said their route map was the same. As far as holidays go their offering is most similar because they have flight only and holidays, they have the same aircraft type and the same expansion plans.

Jet2 has 135 aircraft and they have 132 on order. Proportionally that's very similar to easyJet.

Look at the others. Ryanair don't have a viable package, they are upgauging by just a few percent and they have Boeing aircraft.

Jet2 are a similar to the UK arm of easyJet.

As the UK seems to be where the trouble is it makes most sense to watch that factor.

In fact Jet2 and easyJet UK fleet is quite similar.

Ryanair are also down. Often they go up without reason. Today they go down.

I can see risk in the American fascist behaviour polluting the UK and the UK being aligned to American economic collapse and ultimately the break up of the US.

Jet2 are the closest to easyJet model. Proportions are different but they both have holiday businesses and flight only. Both are mainly UK destinations and both have almost identical fleet upgauging plans.

Which others are heading up, today only wizz. Jet2 down 1.7% which is really 2% from yesterday close.

If anyone is up it's because they were heavily down yesterday. Jet2 were £16.30 a couple of weeks ago

I think that it's fair to say that if anyone can't see opportunity in the 3 year chart then really it's a lost cause.

So you can't see it at the bottom of the range with recovery to high fives

The whole industry is cautious at the moment and I can't see a release without cautionary words. Jet2 has delivered cautionary words and record results for 2 years now. They have been warning about late booking for the last 2 years. At some point they need to accept it's how it is now.

Today we sold our last room for the UK school holidays end of next month. The prices are good and demand like wise.

Last month high air fares pushed inflation up. In July/August who would have thought it. The airfares are certainly not low at the moment and they aren't going back to the £9.99 level where airlines still made good money. Air fares and travel generally is only going up. The UK is worst affected. Here I use the train Málaga to Fuengirola It is 34 minutes and cost €3. In the UK they would be 5 times the price. People are accustomed to paying for travel and the market will remain robust.

The issue is the share can drop 15% on a 1% drop in demand. There's also the expectation that every year profits grow even after a massive previous year.

So the share has been here before several times in the last few years and it's recovered back towards £6 on no news and no actual material difference.

It would certainly break the trend for it to stay low for years. I am betting that it will return to higher levels in due course.

I believe that it was only one day to hey missed the buyback. I suspect theirs a volatility guidance in the instruction. I fully expect them to continue the buyback beyond £250m.

The buyback has largely offset the volume of people leaving the London exchange. I think without it the prospects were grim given the reduction of money invested across all platforms.

I think buybacks support long term holders which is really what is needed. Dividends are gone and spent but the buybacks keep on giving. It's good to see them ploughing money in whilst the value is good.

Prospero I don't see this as really having anything to do with easyjet. It's a frustrating situation but when you look at the chart maybe 3 years you can see it's not the first time. Easyjet has been a steady consistent performer all through that chart but look at the movement.

It's best to start from the position of anything can happen. Crazy fascists taking over America, troubles in Europe. Who knows and really who cares. Yes it could be £7 in December it wouldn't be ridiculous but who knows.

JP Morgan also dropping Jet2. It's not difficult to expect a downturn in discretionary spending in hard times but so far I would say we haven't seen it. Certainly looking at flight prices. The days of half the plane flying for under £20 has gone for sure.

Jet2 and easyJet both giving updates in November. I expect them both to be strong but tinted with caution looking forward.

Jet2 has accelerated their buyback, now buying around 300k a day for cancellation.

Fundamentally little has changed but sentiment towards airlines has changed for sure. Both will have had a great summer again.

Hotel bookings in southern Spain are strong through to the end of October. Christmas and Easter bookings are also strong and ahead of last year.

Personally I don't value the dividend but I guess that depends on your strategy. Most AIM shares don't pay dividends at all. I believe that buybacks trim the stock availability in a declining market. The money available to investors is reducing in London at least and I think it's prudent to remove that excess at a similar rate or face a glut of shares and declining values.

I see that as a realistic scenario.

You need to be very careful with jet2 because they have UT after the bell every day that distorts the picture.

Yesterday they closed at 1484 UT at 1470. Today it opened at 1470 so whilst they are up it's from 14p below the close. This happens a lot, most days in fact.

So today they are up 20p which is 6.5p in easyJet like for like.

I don't attach any significance to directors holdings when they are materially wealthy and given their position they wouldn't be able to sell without the market reacting. Jarvis can be wrong like we all can but he wouldn't be able to do anything about it.

I see this more about the market than easyJet . London isn't a great place to be and people are quick to bank a profit.

I think that we can be certain that the commercial performance is excellent. The issue is how much better was it than last year. The market looks for any excuse.

Jet2 dropped 35% because people are booking later, they have been saying that for 2 years now. However they are still booking. Any excuse.

It's approaching my entry point. The tide is out and it will turn.

Out of favour and unloved.

We have to accept that these types of shares cycle. My personal view and no advice is to watch the cycle and jump in and out where you feel comfortable.

I've also noticed that there's unrealistic expectations about the industry as a whole and decent results have been met with substantial drops. Jet2 last week a case in point. This is in my view a manufactured event.

Easyjet and Jet2 both have significant dates in November and this could get very volatile around that time.
