I agree, even if it spends a while at lower levels it's going back up. The buybacks commenced and will be in play for the rest of this year so lose shares will be mopped up on weak days. The business is in good shape and hasn't yielded to success elsewhere.

I totally disagree with that. At Jet2 the buyback pushed the SP from £11 to £19.50. This is now £50 which is around 15% of the shares. This squeezes liquidity and forces the share price up.

Whether the market ignores it or not is irrelevant it has a material impact of the freely available shares and lifts excess from the market.

Here the share price almost double over the first share buyback £1.60 to £3. With the massive increase into this winter it could very well exceed the previous high.

Interesting that last time they did a share buyback they waited 2 weeks to buy any.

Aren't the earnings 34.5 to £35.5 so 345 to 355m then plus 25m share buyback on today's price.

It's a shame that B2B didn't perform but they wasted no time on that.

However it was 31m in 2024 and this year FY25 adjusted PBT on a continuing basis (excluding B2B) is expected to be in the range of £34.5m - £35.5m.3

Obviously the £2m isn't coming from B2B and now they have closed that aspect of the business. They still have had a very good summer and report a good winter.

It feels very overdone after the pre report drop.

Later booking is a feature and it's been here 2 years now so they should be well used to it.

I am in the hotel business Costa del sol and Portugal and we had a super summer. Málaga record numbers again. Winter is shaping up and many wait, especially the golfers because they want to see how the weather is.

Although people are booking later they are booking in increasing numbers. We have added capacity the last 3 winters for the following season. Extra floors, extra rooms.

Winter we have many golf tours of large groups on packages. Super business

At the current rate the buybacks end on 3rd or 6th October. Yesterday was the biggest ever. There's £48.1m left in the buyback pot.

Normally buybacks have volitilty clauses which means they may not be buying today. At Jet2 on the day they dropped a few quid their were no buybacks.

Like Jet2 the news here is mainly positive but not as positive as they hoped. I bought in and will stick around for the ride

Yes if there no top up of the buybacks then they will stop. If they revert back to 80k a day obviously that will be in a few months. At the current pace it will be sooner.

The buybacks have driven the share price. I suspect that they are running at breakneck speed for a reason because it's a choice. The business is cash rich and could extend the situation further. They could have also withdrawn from a few weeks and probably be buying at much lower levels. They have chosen to do neither.

I suspect that people have sold like yourself in anticipation of the end which is still a while away.

I don't know what's in their head but it's clear that they are mopping up most of the sells.

It's important to understand that only a certain percentage of shares are free-floating. Most are held tightly and aren't going to be released until previous highs are achieved. I guess we seek that point.

I guess this has been the problem here. Jet2 increases it's winter schedule by 9% because they feel that's the best fit with the current market, 9% that's massive over winter. Yet somehow that was a warning over winter demand....... Unbelievable.

I am obviously missing something below. Jet2 increase their winter schedule by just a cautious 9% over last year and they consider that somehow negative.

More planes with similar numbers means longer journeys and more income from more efficient aircraft.

We can see many of the new routes are longer. Some of the shorter routes are no longer possible by law.

The new routes like Egypt are going to places with dominant hotel markets because upselling the package is easy.

Passenger numbers aren't trimming, several airports on record numbers. Here in Spain 6 airports have expansion plans planned or under way.

Easyjet will add bums on seats and percentages on packages. The airline isn't where the main growth potential is.

Stumpy we haven't seen any evidence of performance related value. Great figures hasn't produced a great share price. The money is certainly transient. Many more trading now and algorithms control the price

In jet 2 today there were 28 trades with one second all sells 100 to 500 shares simultaneously. All A trades, all on the same algorithm no doubt. It makes it difficult for the share price to increase especially on the free to

trade platforms.

I suspect it's more to do with the investment profile. There seems to be higher volumes, more shares turnover. I think that the mentality has changed which creates rapid volitilty. The instantaneous nature of access now means that it's more like gambling than investing for many. The FTSE is high although range bound but the money is extremely transient. Largely the same money in multiple places for multiple occasions.

I don't think that it's a mentality that rewards good companies, with a good story or progress or recovery.

It's more a market that moves in a pack following influence.

I suspect the problem is a lack of money in the LSE. I suspect that's the main driver for share buybacks to support the share price whilst money is taken off the table.

I don't think it's the business that's the issue as clearly they are in a growth environment.

I don't see ticket prices going anywhere. I think ryanair will have to change their mindset over pricing. It's a factor but not the main factor.
