This could take longer than I thought. I am of an age whereby I still thought free thought and action would prevail but the govt has scared people to the point of a phobia of a "flu" like virus. I thought people would welocome going back to the shops but I think need to think again.
How can govt policy say on the one hand go back to "normal" (work shop etc) and at the same time float the kite of masks in shops. We have not had to wear masks when the virus was more active but now when we are told its "safe" to go out, we have to wear masks to protect ourselves? What a contradictory message!!!!!! I don't why or for what purpose but world govts seem to want to destroy democratic democracy. (Maybe the "success" of China and Russia as authoritarian democracy is the new formula?) Anyway, I am starting to be genuinely fearful for the future.... (And if anybody thinks I am a foaming at the mouth colonel blimp look at figures for death rates form flu in the last 50 years and you start to realise this particular virus is not a particularly lethal one by any historic comparison)

Do we have a date for results?

I think the rumour is that the US is still going forward so what we lose in the UK Fevr has made up more in the US. we shall see.

I think its the news that Virgin is hanging in the balance and that IAG and easyjet are rumoured to make further layoffs. I guess the market is assuming that DTG will be issuing bad news too? (I am buit surprised because yesterday would have been the time to do it and they didn't. We might, might get a bounce if DTG can confirm no further deterioration in outlook

The scale of the damage to our economy is catastrophic. The French president has already said that if there is a second spike they will do nothing about it. The economies cannot take it. There is simply neither the characters nor the intellect in the govt to deal with this. It was there misreading of the situation that caused the shutdown. The lives that will be lost because of this unnecessary action will outweigh this virus. So, as the light dawns on their dim brains, you can pretty much bank on the economy opening up and staying open irrespective of any measures to combat C19

Hi DG, you make the positive case well and I of course I my conclusions could be absolutely and totally wrong. I think it was the wanting it to be "funky" brand that concerned me. Developing a "wellness Sleep" company sounded quite "serious, and scientific, (whether it was or not is irrelevant, but that was EVE's USP). In just seems a big departure away from what has gone before in the positioning of the company. So, for me the uncertainty increased. I don't think EVE is going to "take off" so if this set of results is good there will be plenty of time to get in and make money from it as a recovery play. GLA

Quint, I don't know about cherry picked. she simply found an add agency that came up with ideas she thinks will work better than what has gone before. Given this is what she used to do at EVE, doesn't fill me with confidence.

Well. Im out now. This was my fear.
I could be confounded on the update later this month but this , to me, is the admission that the present plan is not working...Yikes! And it makes sense while there is money in the bank to spend it to try something different, (which is why the £7.5m was never going to last years it was always going to be spent quickly if sales were not sufficient.
The counter argument could be she feels confident enough to stop tweeking the present model and start again while sales are buoyant. But my logic says you would not change things if they were starting to turn around and work and the co. make money.
Anyway, GLA.

The big problem is footfall in the stores and while the threat of covid persists it will act as a substantial deterrent to people going out, browsing etc.
Therefore I imagine once that threat is removed or largely dealt with then I would expect a swift climb (as with all retail stocks). I also have a holding in AVCT on a test for C19, and whether or not they are successful in getting to market first, what is clear is that there is a huge, hell for leather, race going on between a few companies to get this reliable test out. It would seem that this is only a matter of a few weeks away.
As a result one way or another I am happy (well perhaps happy isn't the right word), but at least content, to wait it out until the end of the summer on this stock before deciding a course of action.
