again, ok fine, but every post that's not about the SP is about info that will move the SP, so why get so huffy and rude about people who want to discuss what moves the SP?
Its not info that dictates the SP, its people buying and selling that move the Share price, and they often over react both buying and selling. An that's where the opportunity can lie, because groups of people are predictable.

Because Ow, EVE are not the only supplier of foam Mattresses. Any mattress can be bought on line. so if you don't like foam its not like you can't have pocket sprung. Look at Mattrssnextday.com
Also I spoke to someone in the hotel industry (not about EVE specifically) but they don't use foam mattresses because they are difficult to clean and dry when soiled by customers.

As I say this is nothing to do about the product per se, but all about EVE and its ability to carve out a profitable niche before it goes bust, which is exactly what CC said in her interview. Its very much about hanging in there. Hence I am not expecting (although I know I could be completely wrong), any great shift. I think it will be a steady as she goes statement. I also think spend will be up so the burn of funds may have increased a bit again she eluded to that in bringing forward advertising spend.

Good then, because the last thing we should be interested in is actually the single, only thing of any value to every single one of us.
Any idea why the SP has gone from 125p to 118p today after all this good news?

Watched the interview, can't see any surprises coming. She thinks keeping money in the bank is key, which I deduce as she expects lower sales going forward which she already stated in the last update. Made references to good/strong sales of Toppers and Pillows but not actually mattresses. May be a bounce when she reports, may be a bit flat and a small sell off... I don't know, obviously she could divulge market moving news, but I thought she was quite low key for the expectations of the next 12-18 months. (Which at this time is not unreasonable I think, so no criticism there from me)
Anyway GLA but I think this will be, after all the wait here and expectation, perhaps a little bit of a damp squib?

fwiw, and for those who care, I see these boards slightly differently to some, maybe many.
All that is important when buying or selling a stock is the price the market gives you at that time on that day. What happens before or after is irrelevant.
The best analogy I can offer to demonstrate my approach is perhaps Formula 1 racing. All that is important is the result.
So, its interesting, maybe, as to what the engine maker is saying and lap times prove about how great the engine is and how superior it is to the rest. That may and even should win the race, but the car could crash, a tyre could puncture, a poor pit stop could all cause the car not to win. Its just the result that counts, that ultimately matters.
If you bought this stock 3 months or so ago and you still hold it then you are looking at fantastic returns, if you bought it at 210p you are looking at a substantial loss. The company is the same but timing is everything. All that matters is the price.
So what, that AVCT today they have the best tech, they might not have it tomorrow. What if another unheard of company says it has all the answers, does that still make AVCT a great company although the SP falls to 20p?
It just seems (and this is common on all boards but this one particularly), that any investigation or comment into what really and in fact only matters, ie the SP, is treated almost by many, with scorn. ("don't worry about the price today, wait till next year", as though anybody has the feintest clue as to what the price will be next year, or how irrelevant that is if you need to sell in the next day or so.
Or, if you are concerned as I have been about the fall recently, somehow get labelled as a T/W soldier (which I don't know even what that means btw!)
However if I post simply a hopeful "here comes 150p by tomorrow" or there is an "RNS on its way at 1:30" I'll get loads of recs.(Which personally is instructive to me of those on the board that do that, as it displays nothing more than wishful thinking and supports ultimately only childish guess work or misinformation from the to original poster.)
There is no news that anybody can bring to this or any other board that the market has not already got. (otherwise its insider trading). It is interesting that the posters here who understand the tech and its applications share their views, its excellent background info to go into the mix of whether to buy or sell in the first place but that info is already out there.
Many here I am sure realise that this game is a psychological one, it is driven by fear and greed and it is easy to see how manipulated people become, but the more we discuss these aspects, the more likely we are to be successful investors (see Mapp, just for you I used the term investors). But language is important, crucial actually, because when pejorative language is used it frames our response to its understanding and it can make us completely miss the point.

Mapp I don't care how modest or not your investment is, I don't care that you have tripled your money on another stock.
Good investment goes up is a bit circular because by going up it becomes a good investment. So, if say hypothetically, AVCT found that their clever tech somehow failed at the last hurdle and went bust, does it still make them a "good investment" because they were based in Yorkshire and all the shareholders were "smart investors".

Mapp you delude yourself with the term "investor". You have bought shares in AVCT. (Effectively a betting slip).Do you know t what the value will be tomorrow, next month, next year, next 5 years? Sure you can guess, but what the difference, you don't know the outcome, you don't even know the timescale, and to top it all you didn't even give AVCT the money, just some broker who bought the shares off somebody else.
And apparently while I am it, it seems anybody who talks the shares down is a deramper or shorter, which always comes across as a very childish term, with an obvious derogatory bias, to somehow bolster your virtuous holding of the same stock, because you're not one of "them" your'e an ….Investor…..

The German buy out is the most interesting bit of news. It will be interesting if Fevertree branch out into distributing spirits.
Clearly this original tie up was not much cop as it looks the price they paid for the german outfit suggest they were bust anyway. (they owed FT a lot of money...). So if, FT can do a better job distributing and selling their own product in germany than previously we should good growth there. Again, "Very strong "sales in the US but no figures. (You do have to wonder what the point is of an update if no figures are ever produced.). All in all it sounds good but without any projections or actual money discussed its very hard to tell.

Dumbles, that doesn't really make sense. You can short a share but that's on the basis that you think its over priced. You don't short a share that is producing good news that should affect the SP in a positive way. Well, I suppose you could but you wouldn't. You can be wrong and close your short and take a hit but this continual reference to shorters is clearly not the reason for the SP decline. No one would continually try to deramp a stock like this for a "short" gain when the SP has already collapsed from over 200p and even 15% in the last 5 trading sessions. in other words even if the shorters were risking a manipulated lowering of the SP they have already won, so to speak, why risk the profit for the sake of an RNS that could come at any time that would catapault the SP upwards.
I have continually bought into declines but this is clearly ridiculous now. This RNS seems at the very least to positively support the SP, so who's selling because a 4.6% decline in one day on the back of good news seems on the face of it, inexplicable, which means something else is going on.

And this highlights the conundrum I think, trying to max profits without spending advertising money or discounting product.
Being an internet business is actually hellishly expensive. The cost of staying on page 1 is enormous and the googles of this world change the criteria to how that happens fairly frequently causing never ending and increasing cost (hence influencers appeared, now influencers charge a fortune....)

So, this news has depressed the SP. I need to consider that. The market see this as a setback.

I think also, by EVE not going for the Mass market and with it a desire to be a "funky" brand means it wants to carve out for itself a niche whereby it can charge more than its rivals. For that to be successful it needs a demonstrable USP over the SIMBA/EMMA product. That is where the Sleep wellness thing comes in, but its tricky because I imagine not many mattress manufactures design these things to be uncomfortable....

jmfw, I agree with you which is why it seems so perverse that the SP is below where it finished last week. Who would sell on good news? There is only so much manipulation (as an excuse) that MM's can be blamed for. I mean, if they force the SP down on for instance, good news, then the demand for people to get in on a, false, lower price would simply cause them to lose money when they balance their order books. I guess one strain of thought could be that the SP is very over priced but even then, there has been so much time for shareholders who thought that to get out previously that that is difficult to argue. Maybe there is a huge seller out there that the MM's are trying to slowly fulfil.
I don't but I am struggling to make any sense of it at all......

Tricky position for EVE: has to sacrifice turnover because it won't discount product like its rivals but at the same time has to show growing business. Its not enough to improve profitability if turnover is not sufficient to generate overall profitability, but equally no good selling more product if not sufficient to generate overall profitability.
Clearly the demand for online mattresses has not diminished over the last 6 weeks so it will be fascination to see how EVe have done.

My very limited anecdotal evidence is that locally, for the last 2 or 3 weeks is that the product is of limited supply in the supermarkets, whether through demand or stock, obviously I can't tell, but the "light" versions seem to be extremely popular.
It also cannot be a coincidence that so far this has been a much hotter, drier summer than 2019
