The thing is PP1, while you are eulogising the Kumani's as these great pioneers of reform, who do you think allowed it to go on in the first place? From what I can see they knew what was going on to deliberately profited from it.
So its a bit rich about to bang on his desire to sort it all out. The fact is Boo got caught out and are now having to, (they have no choice), to change and improve conditions. They are making all the right noises to try and get some good PR (or damage limitation) out of it and that's fair enough in the world of business but please spare us all their "good intentions".
They are to me, pretty unscrupulous as a company and will do and say whatever it takes for them to profit. Its a cut throat world out there in big business so I am not saying they are unique in their attitude or approach but saints they are not.

Hi Neut, there was a support around 107p and it was tested last week as well as previously, which gave me confidence to increase my holding around that level. (109p and 112p , bloody spread!). Had it fallen to around 100p or just above I would have sold out and taken the hit as the risk reward on this stock is potentially off the scale, but chart wise this is a difficult one to trade so I don't try to in a short term sense. I can see support and resistance levels like everybody else, but if news breaks then the chart won't offer much or any guidance in that eventuality.

Thinking a bit more rag, there is not much point in Eve updating an increase in T/O if it has no effect on profit, if anything, as you have highlighted, its a negative. So my logic suggests that either ,if you are correct, then there will be a positive explanation of the short term? increase in overheads, or your number crunching is wrong and Eve is trading at a profit... or it could be something else.... (Thats covered all our bases I think?)

123p, from a chart perspective might be a sticking point. On the other hand (and there are always at least 3 other hands in charting), with this momentum it might shoot through. This stock because it is so news driven and relatively small and with a big spread, does not really lend itself to charting which is why it might be ok to time entry and exit points (which is what I have done) but trying to "predict" where it is going at any given time is beyond my expertise.

based on your figure work that is an eminently sensible conclusion. And it rarely pays to be overweight. I too have trimmed back a little but only because I see other opportunities and the sluggish SP was making me think I can earn elsewhere in the meantime. But that's me. (3 months is LTBH by my standards!) But always rest assured there is nothing anybody can post on any BB that will ever affect the SP one iota) (If it did this SP would be 25p!)

I agree Wolves, there would have been a RNS at 7:00 if there was formal news, given the rise has occurred so early in the day, so this reasonable but not exceptional 6% rise is I think as I said earlier today, a growing realisation that some day soon (maybe very soon), there will be a positive news release and positions are being taken on that basis.

I am a little surprised that the SP has been so muted since the profit update but I trust the market to value shares. I tend to think their dispassionate unemotional take is quite instructive. I think the reason in the expected loss of 2.7m in the year end figures.I think they wanted more "positive news"
But, in the previous updates CC has said that EVE were either breaking even or running at a profit less overheads.
My thinking is with another £2m added to turnover that surely must tip Eve into a genuine profit. So my thinking is that when she reports in January she will report the loss but at the same time say the last, final quarter EVE were profitable and (this is where I go into "hope" mode), and the coming year looks to build on that.
That's when we get the SP spike and continued rise ...(still in "hope" mode...)

The lack of news sentiment feels to me as though its changing, or maybe going full circle.
6 months ago it was "any day now" and as we know it wasn't and since then for the last 405 months its been very up and down with quite big SP swings until the last few weeks where the lack of "expected" or forecasted news has failed to materialise has resulted in much concern as to know if anything was going to be delivered.
Now it feels (as I say at least to me), that the lack of no "bad" news is starting to confirm that good news is now on the near horizon. It may or may not fall into this quarter after all, but nevertheless it is not far away and people again are starting to renew and increase their positions.
Might have good Xmas after all? Heres hoping,

maybe Spike (and I hope so) , but I have lost all sense of timings of validations, contracts, updates from AVCT, I just have no idea where AVCT is on anything that they have previouslyreported and updated on. But as I have said before, it does seem unthinkable that not a single strand of the business won't be RNS'd before the end of the month.

AP, if it is us then I would expect announcement before the training materials etc were sent out to the schools, which just about keeps us in Q4?

Neut, maybe buy into ABDX, that way you benefit from any covid test stock?
I don't know how well choreographed it all is but I wonder if the IPO has been timed for an announcement from the GOVT/AVCT somehow? I am not a great believer in coincidences…

seems a good play to benefit from any of the other covid test related stocks, saves having to have a bit in each one.

I still don't understand how the risk reward is so skewed by 10p per share. If its only a small top up then it becomes relatively unimportant between 99p and 109p, if it is that key, then your expectation for growth must be, what 130-150p? But that will only happen on rumour, news will propel it much higher don't you think?

Neutronic, you say you will top up if it goes sub100p, but I don't think you will. If it falls from here it will almost certainly be on perceived market increased risk, or actual adverse news, and in either case you would not then commit funds.
Because if you are not going to commit now you never are. If the news breaks that is good for AVCT, (which you must think at some stage it will, otherwise you would not be looking to top up) what do you think the SP will go to, 180p? 250p? more? and you are going to risk missing out on that potential that you already think is there, for 10p per share?

Thanks for your thoughts Ben, its just a frustrating time and that's the start and finish of it. We know we need the home test and a reliable one, we just don't know for sure if Avacta are still in the game (presumably in the silence of any contradiction from AVCT) we are.
The frustration and growing scepticism is magnified by the lack of any news on other front. Still, the BoD know this and again, the silence must be taken as a positive rather than a negative until we hear anything to the contrary.
Nothing I can do about it that's for sure. Just have to wait it out.

Ben, given your thoughts that AVCT might be in the tender, do you have any further thoughts if we will get confirmation (or not) this week?

Went to order a new Fender for Xmas, and it has an 8th of April delivery date. Given that they do a lot of business with fender the fact that some models are on a 4 month lead time suggest sales are going well... maybe....?
