I have always found it odd that LT holders post almost daily, it seems almost contradictory.

It gets odder still when they are abusive of other posters (whether short or long term), on any given day of SP movement.

If you are holding for the next say, few years, what does today or this year or even next, matter?

Its difficult to know the veracity of posters who are selling and have sold over the last few days or so, but assuming they are honest then they are also likely to be representative of the wider PI market.

I'm sure most of you know about "capitulation".

I'm wondering if we are entering that phase now with AVCT the more sells go through the more the SP drops which sucks in more sellers trying to safeguard or bank profits and the cycle continues and increases.

This will test a lot of nerves now because I'm pretty sure the majority of shareholders here are over committed.

The pain of holding on and holding on while the SP falls and then instead of getting out last week say, you get out today and inwardly curse yourself at not doing it earlier, will be multiplied should the SP rebound.

The emotional roller coaster of playing this game can be pretty intense as Vis acknowledged. (And it not about growing a pair)

That's why they say, never bet with more than you can afford to lose.

MCB, I reckon the test site (The hospital in Spain?), will be in daily contact with AVCT on how the testing is going and passing on the results as they go. The hold up according to AS, is a lack of samples so I think the conversation has probably gone along the lines of maybe last week:" 6 cases to go and at the present rate of past and now current infection admittance, that will be completed in the next 2 days or end of next week at the very, very latest"

AS then gives him self another 3 or 4 days for wiggle room and announces the IP for 9 days time knowing that he will be dropping THE rns before then. (The IP itself is already well done and dusted and ready to go.) That's my best guess.

And if for some reason the last samples don't materialise then he will go with what is going to be already a large validation, and the last few won't make a material difference to the outcome, (which he already has the data for).

Rich, most presentations that are backward looking will still reference to how the year has started and whats likely going forward, if even in vague terms.

ND is right in my view, AVCT could not possibly, in this febrile environment, with so much money at stake for a successful test, simply ignore the topic.

Tim, I do remember you saying that as it happens but, we have had an RNS in between. I don't know if PL is right that the events are disconnected. Personally, at such a critical time if the history of AVCT ,I don't think they would have this date simply as a co-incidence.

Likewise I think the odds of good news before outweigh the chance of bad news breaking on the day presentation.

But todays reaction shows how nervous the AVCT market is. And all info to me, is useful.

And how many shares does it take to sell to force the price down? and what role do the MM's play, I post scummy stuff and immediately the MM's decide to mark it down?

I'm intrigued with such a remark as it requires such a convoluted chain of events to take place. (and boy must I have some influence!)

Some here think the mark down is for a big buy in the background so its actually a good thing (I don't know by the way, seems bit to complicated for me, I'm more a Ocham's Razor type of person, but who knows)

Energy, this is a poor argument. The SP drops and it coincides with an investor presentation, and the price is dropping because after all this time waiting and the day is almost upon us, PI's are selling due to their impatience and it is them forcing the SP down? You know ,PI's who are desperate for good news and now they have a date for when all will be revealed decide today is the day to sell?

Where is the logic?

Even if it were traders, look at the spread, it opened down so you could not get out at 263p this morning and if you want to get in now its about 252p. I don't know what fantasy world you live in but by referring to anyone who sells as a scumbag is I suggest, ridiculous.

There will be a time when you decide to sell. Will you then be a Scumbag for realising profits you have waited 10 years cash in on?

Gold, its very difficult to make a balanced argument here.

Here's one:
Its down around 5% today on the back of news of a presentation next week.
The market gets notice of an imminent update to see where AVCT is in all range of things it does and the SP falls.

You don't think the market would be clambering to get on board for all the good news about to be confirmed as opposed to selling?? Does that make sense?

Why short shrift Larsh? why does the frequency of trading have anything to do with it?

Do you think, just because you are prepared to stay in for the "long term" that that in itself guarantees greater profits?

You are making long term assumptions that you have no idea if they will come to fruition.

It's just if you can stand back and analyse your thoughts honestly you start to realise quite how emotionally powerful Fear & Greed are!

Zoom, you highlight a real dilemma for the PI, Stops only work in markets so large that you can get out at any price you want. (T.Bills being an example)

Unfortunately in relatively illiquid small stocks like this, a stop is always likely to get filled however far away it is from the current price, but at the same time on a large drop (say based on breaking news), it will go straight below it and get filed probably much further down.

Thats why I have never bought into the general feeling here that this is a "traded" stock in the way that many think or imply. You can't really set stops that in actuality help or mean anything or protect your capital.

FWIW, given I buy and sell stocks frequently, I have a target and if and when it reaches that target I will sell. If I decide to re-purchase at a higher price later, I just consider that new trade on its merits, ie "is it likely to go up from here." And don't pay any attention to what prices I may have bought or sold at previously.

If you get caught in a sell off like "vaccine day" or NYCT last week you can't do much about it other than not to have over committed in the first place.

Flip, help me out here:

Are you saying a falling SP is a positive? because if you are, does that therefore mean when it goes up its a negative.

or are you saying that todays falling SP is a positive but that might not always be the case (ie sometimes a falling SP will be a negative), and if that's the case how do you know which is which?

I'm relaxed about this:

I re-evaluate my decisions when new news is released. This RNS announcement so close to the delayed CV/CE result is I think, confirmation all is good or an explanation that it isn't. I don't think the date is meaningless, I think its absolutely key.

Imo, If the test has been delayed or worse the SP will I think at least halve. If it's good news it could well double. So right now what I though was being de-risked, based on the mologic tie-up, is back in the air because I thought back in late feb we would have a test by now. But its late, again. I'm not interested in the flaming I will now get, but the track record is 100% of delays. and that is a factor in my decision making.

But its all down to the individual, we all make our own choices. I'm not bleating about it and its of no interest or effect to any of you what I do or don't do.

I just post my take on new news, like everybody else.

This, as always with AVCT this can be read 2 ways.

The positive is that it will follow the RNS saying the test is released yada yada ya.....(Happy, happy days)

The other one, given its over a week away is an update as to why there has been a delay.

So now there is yet again, added fuel to the 2 way pull. FOMO for option 1 and "get out now" in case of option 2.

This looks to me, to be a binary choice. everything else for the next 9 days won't count, so save the talk of value in everything else AVCT do, right now that's not the game in town.

Vis, how is it legalised robbery? You post that you are willing to sell at 255p per share. Then guess what, somebody posts they are willing to buy at 255p per share, hey presto and a trade is done.

You would not be saying this now if your trade had been executed and the SP carried on falling and closed, at say, 235p would you?

PP, all you do is post other peoples opinions.

You never enter into a debate on the risks attached. you go on and on about long term hold but won't discuss the HUGE danger of not diversifying.

And then you filter peoples opinions you don't agree with while personally abusing them as you do it, and yet somehow at the same time tell everyone to be nice to each other and go and take walk or whatever ,and stop looking at the SP every 2 minutes.
