I am/was defending my position simply because I question, after all the false dawns and misleading statements that the cycle of SP volatility is a simple and obvious reaction of seeing the SP move up on the rumour and fall again on the lack of any breakthrough in sales to substantiate the rumour mill.

This BB is so one sided in its distribution of prejudice it seems largely incapable of accepting that most obvious FACT.

You listed a whole host of reasons why AVCT should make a fortune.

Has any of this happened yet? Have any been translated into transformative income for AVCT yet?

Have there been any delays to what AVCT has previously published as to what would happen regarding its LFT test?

And as its a Sunday morning, just a bit of TA musing.

I think one of the biggest aspects of charting that is rarely discussed is when to sell. Its baffling to non TA folk with all the talk of trendlines and indicators etc when saying when to buy and target prices etc etc. Those who don't get peeved by it , are quite attentive just to see if it pans out as forecast. What people are less interested in is when to sell. When to bank that profit.

(I am genuinely delighted that you got out when you did on HE1 by the way)

All TA trades should have a plan based on the charts thus far in front of the individual: you wait for a certain price to hit to time your entry, and also you should have 2 prices for when you sell. the first one being, if the stock falls to a point where you feel the market has proved to you that your initial buy was wrong (your loss) and the target price where you think the SP is going . (your profit.) A popular ratio of this risk is reward is 3 or more. (3-1, doesn't have to be, just seems popular)

So, as a simple example I buy stock A at 30P. I will exit it at a loss if it falls to 27p (potential loss 3p or 10% of my capital)

My target therefore has to be at least 39p (9P gain or 30%) so my risk reward is 3-1, could lose 3p per share but could make 9p). If the chart "says" its only going to 36p then that would be 2-1 and that's not worth the risk to my capital, so I would not enter the trade

Sometimes on well traded stocks with a long(er) history you might be in a position when you have a risk reward or 5 or more. Same example as before, so 27p is the downside risk, but the target (maybe the next resistance point) is 48p and this example now is a 6-1 risk reward ratio (happy days, potentially!!)

The thing is, once the individual has developed a system that is accurate enough for overall profits to be consistently made then it becomes very mechanical. And the biggest side advantage of that, being so mechanical, is that it removes the emotion from the whole exercise.

I have always tried to get this across, but whatever system anyone uses (incl. LTB&H) you should have a plan prior to buying, the entry price and the 2 selling prices. I also have a time limit as well as part of my plan, as the length of time you hold a stock plays a huge part in the individuals over all return. (I would rather have a 50% return in 3 weeks that 100% in 12 months, for instance) but each to his own.

it is fascinating (well it is to me anyway), but as always its down to the individual. I have found not found a system yet that is full proof, but this works better than any other method and I think I have tried them all over the last 40 years!

Mowz, I agree and have said to a disbelieving BB, that I don't think any post here alters the SP. It may sway some to buy or sell who read the posts and whichever way they go its their decision that they live with.

But the clogging of the BB which is largely what this is about is probably around 20-30 posts on a "bad day" from the evil trio out of 200 plus every day? so maybe 85% plus is from others.

What clogs the BB is the gang of the guardians clogging it up with off topic remarks in an effort to stoop the being overrun... I mean really, you couldn't make it up,

To me this has been a civilised discussion on what this BB is like and the reasons for it. yet there was one post, FTS, which added nothing to it and was personally rude. Not defending their involvement in making the BB unreadable, just having a pop. 16 recs so far. So they are encouraged to carry on with their own disruptive behaviour.

Mowzer, I don't think I have ever taken any post from you as a personal attack, and enjoy the sometimes, different take we have over the same info. :0)

This whole "trader" thing is imo, quite a bit overdone here. Of course I can trade a stock and hold at the same time for the long term. If the cancer therapy works then the SP could easily be North of £20 per share. So for that potential extraordinary gain I have set aside about £30k in AVCT to see it play out. I then have a separate trading pot which I never expected to have to use with AVCt because it really could only explode at any time, but as we know it has been one delay (largely unexplained) after another so from November last year I traded it. A few here are genuinely interested in TA so I have posted at various times my thoughts on AVCT from a TA perspective.

I am not overly impressed with "research" as ultimately the only way to buy a stock (by and large) in front of a big move is not so much in the research available (everybody has that available to them and the SP already reflects that info), but by making a leap in analysis and effectively gamble that this "analysis" of a potential outcome based on research will pay off.

My argument with "research" is that Myles as an example (who i have no beef with whatsoever and kindly makes his research and conclusions widely available), is that...what good has it done over the last 15 months? All the links, all the dot joining, how has that helped anybody make money here since June last year?
That obvious fact should be cause for pause, shouldn't it? Lots of people are underwater by quite some margin having done their research.

I am not saying it worthless by any means but the evidence is in front of eyes that skilled, professional analysts have been woeful on this stock thus far, from an investment pov.

There is no bigger picture here.

AVCT is just a stock, one of hundreds to choose from. People have already made money from it by buying in at lower than we are today and others have lost money on it. Its not that remarkable a thing.

I am not shouting how crappy it is, what I have highlighted or tried to , that there is a reason why the SP falls from 280p to 100p in a matter of a few weeks. You can't put a "positive" spin on that, but why should you, why can't we just discuss whats likely going on in the background to cause this slump?

If the conclusion is, "we don't know, but lets exercise some caution and not just recommend topping up on every fall until we do have a clearer idea of what is happening", don't you think that would have been good investment advice?

Mowzer, the problem is more I think actually this board. I have a about 6-10 stocks at any given time and post on those BB's too and don't get any grief at all (unless I bump into someone from here). (ODX seems also to be a pretty spiteful BB but has some of the same characters there as here), but generally actually this BB stands out for its vindictive approach to other posters. This BB is different to others.

As an example if you are a new poster here and you don't post a rampy first view, then almost always, someone (normally more than one), immediately will cast doubt on your reasons for making your first post on the BB and that you are probably "someone else" deliberately here to cause mischief. There is no "innocent until proven guilty" here. and it normally is a pretty rough ride. Why does that happen (Mostly only here remember)?

The thing is and I have without much success tried to highlight, posts should be objective, and not catagorised as positive or negative, those 2 attributes have got nothing whatsoever in allowing a reader to see if the post in question has merit or not. Any yet far too many posters view comments through this inappropriate prism as whether or not the content is worth reading.

I am seen as overwhelmingly negative and worse by some, maybe many, and when I pointed out that I had been broadly correct, that was met with, "I wouldn't trust a thing you say and don't listen to a word you post. "
So even being correct does not help on this BB. I don't mention this to say look at me, but simply to highlight the absurdity of the response. Basically its not about being right or wrong , its just about being positive!

The solution is ands always has been, If a poster ticks you off enough you just filter them or don't respond. If no one replies to me for instance, then I have no way of answering their objections to whatever I might be raising. And that's it, that's all it takes to keep the BB clear of whoever it is. Just don't engage. And those that do (about the issues raised), well that's fine, they may take a different view and want to swap views with again in this example, me. and they should be allowed to do so.

What this BB has that almost no other has, is a small group that feel that immediately being personally abusive will solve anything. I have pointed this out several times now, but threads are commonly started just to be offensive to the poster they don't like. Nothing about AVCT or the post in question, and more often than not the poster in question responds (not unreasonably, actually), which then draws more in and it all gets a bit heated, and then after probably 20 or so posts the thread gets deleted.

But the damage to the general BB has been done.

Its these posters that are (well, already have to a large degree), destroyed this BB and yet everyone here is happy to tolerate them even though they are the instigators of the cause of the disruption.

I also agree Aim, with your view that he was frustrated. (I am not excusing his "you Betcha" moments as I have previously stated, CEO's are always going to over hype their own business). But I don't think he was trying to mislead anyone, I think he was genuine in his expectation of a commercial find.

I don't know the other brands to be able to comment on choice, style, and price and therefore value

I know I posted this already but I thinks its all about the cosmetics and the clothes are a side show that maybe Boo can do something with, but I don't think that's why they bought debs. Every single female purchase could have make up added. From lippy to mascara just small items but on their turnover of individual items sent out every day globally, it is imo, likely to be colossal over the coming months and years as an add on to order value and profits.

I added some more at 3.6p as that to me was significant at the time last week.

5.5p would be very bullish if it came quickly, (say, within the next 2 weeks) but the potential from a TA pov is quite limited as you have go back literally years before we are even at 10p, so I am happy (ier) to add sub 4p rather than load up at 5-6p just because of the gain likely available, assuming all goes well.

But (in true TA style) it depends. it depends on how the chart forms to get to key price points and over what time scale.

So like In say, 5.5p in 2 weeks is a much, much more powerful indicator than taking 6 months to get there, even though the price would be the same.

And I understand User's frustration with me because of this constant flip flop, but the difference might be, my flip flopping is based on shorter timescales than some here and dare I say it, its not emotionally driven. So if there is a few days of falls and it hits a price where it makes me think more is likely coming I just sell. If a few days later its all reversed and i feel confident rises are on the way then i'll buy back in.

Every trade to me, is a stand alone transaction and has no bearing on the previous one. So i play it as i see it at the time.

So i don't exhausted (as UN said he felt), I don't get (overly) frustrated when i get it wrong simply because I went into the trade with a plan and the plan allows me to remove the emotion out of the transaction.

Rag, I do query your belief in the Debs brand. They have been for the last 30-40 years a cheap (ish) bland brand with neither the cheapest clothes out there nor the best quality, real middle of the road dullness.

The market has changed and you can see that by the way of BHS going first (same store profile basically) and then Debs. PLT is big in the states, debs was getting smaller and smaller in the UK, yet you think this super dull brand image is going to be transformed?
Maybe it will but that will be a testament to BH marketing, not DEB reputation as a must have brand.

Thus far CI, EVE's low at 2.9p has proved to be a bottom that has been confirmed with an RSI pattern and the start of a reversal of the downtrend. This was strengthened further when there was a close above 3.5p

This now makes 3.5p a support, so we would not want a close below that price.

I highlighted 3.8p as the next target and we had a close last week at 3.9p and a retrace back to 3.51p (testing the support), yesterday it closed at 3.8p so its facing some resistance to get to the next small target of 4p plus (its quite choppy around 4p-4.15p so I would want to see a close above 4.15p to bring the recent high of 5.05p into play)

Broadly after the bottom was put in at 2.9, 3.15p showed to be a strong support so if 3.5p did go I would expect 3.15p to be the next support

Overall the chart is still confirming a reversal of the downtrend rather than a dead cat bounce and a close above 5.05p then does start to put new recent highs (6p plus) in the frame. But we are not there yet, but from a TA POV it looks ok for more rises rather than falls.

Thanks for that D, hopefully the news flow will be sufficient to propel the stock upwards prior to the next official TU.

Sorry you feel that way UN, it not my intention to "play the game" in a way i think you imply.

I do spend more time looking at the downside on a stock as I believe in capital preservation and at the same time, I believe the time the individual holds a stock to get the return they desire is a very overlooked but crucial component of making money too.

So i try to be as sure as I can (given its a crap shoot), before I buy and then when i do, I use charts to try and give me a little edge as to the entry level.

Yes I did buy pretty low but I said at the time I had and that it was based on the chart and I also stated my reason was the next 2 updates was my timeline, one has just gone and its on the better than expected side of OK, but not a barn burner, so hopefully it will be cemented with further progress in 6 months time with the next set of results

I get the gist of it ND, but You have to RNS price moving info.

The rumour of "something" happening caused the SP to got from 101p to 140p, a 40% rise. then it falls all the way back. Thats not "fair" to investors trying to make a decision on the whether or not to buy, hold or sell. Because if the rumour was/is true then it means some got hold of it before others and thats why as we all know, you have to RNS these things.

The company did not come out one or the other to say that they did not know why the SP spiked adding to the view the rise was unfounded. what if it turns out it wasn't and people bought in a140p to see go all the way down and sold out at say,105p for example, to stop any more capital loss?

We all here go back and forth daily on the SP, who's talking it down, who's talking it up etc, but if we park all that old nonsense, the vast number of AVCT share owners are PI's that don't even know this board exists let alone frequent it.

I know AIm can be a bit, well, AIM -like but nevertheless I' will personally be happy if there is behind-the-scenes news released with the but I will, at the same time be pretty disappointed in the way the company operates, if it thinks that is a professional way to carry on with their Investor base.

Because you can get plenty of tests free of charge, so why would you pay for any?
