gje, you said "You seem to give your critique with a big skew to short term trading opportunities. If someone is looking at a longer time horizon, perhaps a SIPP, or even just a medium term investment over a couple of years, then what a fantastic proposition this is. "
This is the last 10 years of the AVCT SP going back to oct 2011:
102p, 76p, 86p, 78p, 140p, 89p, 65p, 23p, 20p, 182p, and 115p (currently)
10 years ago the SP was 102p, today its about 10% higher with at one stage an 80% capital loss from that 10 year 102p.
That's not short term.
And fwiw, yes I will carry on trading around the margins if i think I can make some profit, but my core holding is already 16 months old and I expect it to be at least another 2 years (probably longer), so don't assume my views are simply on short term gains. I understand that with a company involved in this area of research its all or nothing (usually) and it tends be explosive if and when it happens. so timing is very important. (can you imagine if you have had your money tied up here for 10 years and basically hardly any further forward!)
BB's by their nature, will discuss the minute detail and day-to-day movement of the stock. That's what they do, its inevitable any news/SP movement will be magnified disproportionately. Through that exaggeration you look for themes or repetitive threads that may show an underlying problem's or opportunities.
If people get frustrated by BB's typical exaggeration of events then the solution is pretty simple: Don't go to them. Don't read them. No one is forcing anyone here to come to the site.
