10/10 if you are day trading but if you expect to hold for the next 2-3 weeks (from a TA pov) then imo its the wrong time frame and therefore the conclusions you draw will be irrelevant. (its a bit like looking at weather updates on your timeframe which would be fine if you were planning to have a bbq this evening, but not much help if its for a week today.

fwiw, yesterdays huge rise achieved a couple of things.

Firstly it smashed through the last few months of resistance and at the same time caused the RSI to move to pretty much over-bought territory, so a pull back today(which is looking likely) is expected, this will allow the RSI to unwind a bit and at the same time pave the way for more rises.

If one is so inclined, not the worst place to buy in/top up. (just my opinion, DYOR etc etc)

certainly the RNS indicates a 100m more of oil reserve may be the FA catalyst for new buyers.

Time will tell and the clock does seem to be ticking faster now which ratchets up the pressure on those standing on the sidelines who are trying to be cute with a timed entry

Fingers crossed, but this selling down has been pretty relentless, which is just very odd (well, it is to me).

I get the argument that there may have been a certain portfolio balancing going on, but good grief, its gone on along time given that news could break any day. (And it is pretty counter intuitive for a fund to sell so they don't make too much money.... surely you would wait for the shares to double and then sell off?)

Still, one thing I have learnt with these types of stocks, always add a chunk of time to whatever forecast is given.....

Early morning SP up a bit which is a rare thing recently.

For a stock with this potential and every day getting closer to an announcement Its been pretty frustrating to see constant downward pressure applied.

Maybe, todays the day when that reverses?

just guessing but assuming the data is good then a doubling or so of the SP (prior to any orders), say 500p?

Then (because no takeover would come before the results), immediately bid at 700p with then another bidder(s) pushing price to between 800-900p.

When ever it comes, it is coming I think. I can't see this staying independent so it will get taken out (much) sooner rather than later.

Just another missed deadline that is inherent with this type of stock.

No, thats not the case. This is areal stats can prove anything data set.

To begin with it is heavily caveated with estimates and assumptions made.

But 10 people die at 81 who had 6 months left to live equalling 5 years total life lost: I person dies at 50 with 31.6 months life lost. Average now of life lost total of the 11 in the group is 36.6 months or 3.327 years lost each.

Thanks CM, Its dated May 2020 and the virus only had traction then for 3 months so when there started their analysis it must have been from about Mid March/April so less than 2 months of stats.

I sent over the gov link and like wise you can google the average age of death in the UK.

that seems a reasonable conclusion.

The headwind is that now, any timeline either explicitly or intermated by AS is probably discounted by the market.

The one abiding thing that sticks with me on most RNS's from AVCT is that amount of interpretation we end up applying to it on here. This being a case in point.

AVCT could if they wished, be more explicit. The fact they do not after all this time, does not fill me with confidence, and if I feel that way then I am sure others, in the wider market, do to.

My ultimate conclusion is that AVCT really do not care about PI's at all. AVCT will either achieve their goals that they are all working hard to attain, or won't. Whether we stay on board or not seems to be a mater of supreme indifference to them and AS in particular. I genuinely feel he has been deeply affected by the personal abuse he and his staff were subject to when people use to email the company directly and this is payback.

Hi Rum,... you noticed...damn!

two things:
we are actually (imo) highly emotional beings, not rational at all. We have the ability to have rational thought, but it conflicts with our natural state of being driven in every aspect of our lives by emotion.

I am no exception, but in this area (gambling), the suspension of emotion helps make me make money. However i am human and therefore fundamentally and intrinsically emotional. So I have found a system that allows both sides to work in harmony.

the second thing: My dislike for long term is actually based on rational thought. Its higher risk for potentially bigger gain, and I (in my Vulcan state), am risk-averse.

But coupled with that I do get bored because part of the enjoyment (yikes I am becoming emotional again), of trading for me is that I see it as a puzzle: Is there a pattern there that I can see that allows me to solve it and "win" (money being the marker)?

I can't be arsed to wait 2 years for the puzzle to be resolved. (Plus practise makes perfect so I need to crack on and have multiple goes at it) and the absolute cherry on the top is, is that time is the resource that is finite.

I have not got time to wait for months and years to go by and find it was a dud after all.

The one thing we all know for sure is that we are going to die. but the one thing we never, ever accept, is that it will be today, so effectively we think we are immortal and that leads to a huge amount of wasted time.

Time and what you do with it is the only thing that matters and it goes quicker than you think.
