That was an intense 15 minutes... he seems to have got to grips with the science and the flow of that presentation is the best yet in my opinion .. There is a huge mountain of science going on and by the looks of it more funds will be required .. If I get the opportunity I’ll be investing again in scancell directly.

Hope everyone's patience is holding out ... Just a note about science .. My dad has been chronically short sighted since he was born and recently on top of that had developed cataracts in both eyes ... He had his second lens replacement last week and when i saw him he had tears in his eyes and said ... "I've never seen a horizon so crisp and sharp ever before!" ... he's 84 !!

I just wonder at the advances we are making every day, yet there is always sadness at all those people who never had these opportunities of treatment. I guess, and some day hope, that treatments for cancer will be as good as my dads treatment on his eyes !!

Evening all ! I’m not going to be able to attend the agm this year .. It was my wife’s 50th birthday yesterday and to surprise ME .. she’s booked a short break away .. today and tomorrow !! How kind is that !! ... and Fawsley Hall is a very nice spot indeed !! If anyone who attends could give a summary of the meeting, then I’d appreciate that very much !!

Completely off topic ... it seems that Vaping may not be as safe as first thought ?? What I don’t understand is that vaping just appeared as an alternative to smoking with very little in the way of clinical trial or testing !? I’m hardly surprised that inhaling the vapour of a heated oil with additives isn’t actually that safe either !!

Yes, been to Thailand when I did some backpacking (year round the world) in my twenties ! Just remember the fruit there amazing in quality and variety !!

With Scancell .. I wouldn’t claim I could navigate the complexities of the science, deal making or clinical pathways any better than they are trying too!? The joys of being a passenger and not the driver eh !!

Morning TF .. shockingly .. I’ve been away again with the family.

As the late summer forecast was so good I’ve been in Caister-on-Sea for the last week having a good old British summer seaside holiday .. the only difference being ... it was actually hot and sunny ALL WEEK !!! Lol ..

Crazy Golf, fish and chips, arcades, sand castles (of sorts), and unusually swimming in the sea!!

Got home yesterday and with regards to scancell .. I’m just happy to let them get on with what is proving to be a more difficult road than I thought while I get on with travelling mine.

Yes, Hartlepool once again keeping things exciting but at the wrong end of the table already ... gonna be a long season .. but we are used to that eh lol!!

Inanaco … interesting miss again … but should they have seen it coming .. yet another inhibitor / inhibitor fail??

Imfinzi is a PD-L1 inhibitor and Tremelimumab is a CTLA-4 inhibitor … however if the right immune cells are not present (like in many late stage cancer patients) then their action will go unnoticed by patients compromised immune systems.

What is needed is a boost in conjunction with an inhibitor … not further inhibition .. (in my opinion)!

This wont be the last inhibitor / inhibitor trial to not succeed … shame for the patients as always! (fact)!

Berm .. agree with that .. continuing with the scib1 combo trial will add to data already gained from the previous scib1 trials ... I understand and feel the frustration of the US news but I like the ‘ethical’ reasons to push on without it ! Good also that Keith Flaherty is still holding out for it to be sorted US side too so he can still be involved ....

Berm .. how easy do you think it would be to make a copy of scib1 and deliver it so as to satisfy the authorities that your copy is the ‘same’ ?

This is certainly not as simple a process as replicating things like fixed small molecules in my opinion !?

It’s something I’ve always found a little strange .. how something as important and as central to immunotherapy gets so little coverage in the wider arena !?

Scancell have talked about cell avidity and why most cancer vaccines fail as a direct result of low avidity not lack of ‘response’ ... but elsewhere, there seems to be very little discussion about avidity ?

Can’t really add much that hasn’t already been said about Vulpes ... but their ‘approach’ and their choice of investing in Scancell after much due diligence is, id say, a positive thing .. and they have done well already (on paper) !! How much are they looking for?? Hopefully a lot more ... but that’s only my opinion ..
