If you get a ‘response’ does that guarantee success in a clinical trial ?

Didn’t scancell achieve a 100% response rate to at least one of the 4 targets in scib1 ?

Interesting way of looking at the data .. what matters is tumour reduction, clearance and survival isn’t it ??

We are all wanting the same outcome for scancell and it’s technology ... fingers crossed eh !

There has without doubt been an increase in the understanding of how cancer ‘works’ over the past few years ..

However , in actual treatments the improvement has been incremental along side increased risk of harmful side effects ..

Combinations have been somewhat ad hoc pairing products that work in similar ways I.e. inhibitor/inhibitor for example ..

While it is now considered that vaccines will be a better partner for inhibitors most vaccines to date don’t produce t-cells with high enough avidity to produce a step change in success ....

Hopefully with scancell now making Avidity a key word in all its technology platforms, it will become clear soon if Lindys’ Teams ideas become validated .. (more than already!) ..

Quick query .. when it is suggested that some late stage melanoma trials are achieving success rates of 70% .. why would Dr Flaherty persue a trial aiming at lower than that !? 70% is utterly astonishing ... only thing is .. I haven’t seen it anywhere ??

Evening all .. just had a quick look at ichors web pages .. their last news release was in May last year ...

I’m sure they will add something about scib1 in the coming days ! They must be very relieved to get over this hurdle ..

Morning .. not sure what scancell can do if the patients they put through screening don’t match the requirements .. they are a tiny company in an increasingly busy sector .. patience is indeed testing but to infer scancell have been slack doesn’t in my opinion reflect what’s going on in the clinic ... treating patients that don’t match risks the trial failing .. and that wouldn’t benefit anyone ..

Just my opinion as ever ..

When I was in my early 20’s I was interrailing with a couple of friends and we got the Sleeper train from Naples to Rome ... when I woke up all my belongings had gone except for my passport which I kept at the bottom on my sleeping bag lol !! .... I borrowed some cash to get me home !! Not funny at the time but great life memories now !
