I got distracted then as trying to juggle several things .. hitting the N protein as well as the S protein with Scancell’s Immunobody could be bad news for this and future Coronavirus outbreaks ?

What a superb and informative clip inanaco .. nice clear explanation of the potential target proteins for vaccines and as such a clear demonstration of scancells USP as far as vaccine development goes..

Interesting the virus has the ability to ‘hide’ from the immune system a bit like a cancer cell does .. uses self proteins ... hitting the N protein as well as the S protein.

Would it not have been better to spread the risk and invest ‘a bit’ into lots of early stage technology re covid19 then ‘refine’ the investment as early data starts to come through ???

The Oxford vaccine is a big hope... there will be a lot of red faces if it fails ... (if it can afford to fail now ????) ..

How many times has it been said here ... usually directed at the Americans ... throwing money at things does not make the science work any better !!

Anyone else think it’s very optimistic pledging to manufacture huge amounts of a vaccine that as yet hasn’t been proved to exist ??

Wonder if any of this cash is actually being ‘well spent’?

For me, that scancell have created so much ‘potential’ in such a tiny budget .. its a wonder the powers that be ‘won’t’ grant anything to the Nottingham group !?

It seems the government are keen to ‘adjust’ their initial hope about finding a vaccine for covid19 ...

Interestingly in this evenings briefing there was quite a bit of time spent on not only the two major ‘hopes’ covered in the press to date but also that the government has identified 6 other potential treatments they are supporting. None of these were disclosed!

We all have a unique position I guess.. there are almost limitless decisions to make when trading / investing in aim .. glad I didn’t put it all in VAL seven years ago for instance ... that if you have been careful over that period and your average is anywhere near the current price, I’d say there is every reason to be optimistic but if you bought at 60p and have just sat there looking at them since then I guess you are going to feel pessimistic!

They just spent some time discussing the search for a vaccine / therapeutic ! Boris says that they are throwing vast sums of money at finding a solution !!! But .. there is no guarantee at finding one ... that’s a bit more realistic at least !

What a fascinating position for a tiny British biotech .. it seems it’s very well understood that it’s not a race ... and that all hopeful vaccine candidates will not be successful ... and that the government is promising to do all it can to help anyone developing a covid19 vaccine !

With immunobody already tried in the field with very compelling although early results ... could scancell be about to get a boost !? Although granted, the circumstances of which we would have all rather not had !!!

Afternoon all ! Good to see scancell on Sky News ! Liked the “We can, with the right support, get this into humans later this year”. Talk about a big hint to the government !!! Wonder if there will be any other slots booked on any other news channels ??

Shame CH didn’t slip the ‘next generation vaccine’ buzz words in but he did explain that ‘Covidity’ could have 3 advantages over current vaccines being developed !!

Good stuff !! Will the 8p seller just continue though eh??

Just looked in and saw your question .. no I think it’s a reference to the aim of the vaccine rather than to the vaccine .. the one being developed at Oxford is the one in the news I believe .. and nothing to do with scancell.

Interestingly mr Han**** specifically commented in tonight’s update that they are actively looking for and investing in vaccine technology ... this being a live and ongoing issue !

Hope scancell are getting their forms filled in and off to Downing Street !

Strange time to sell for a small profit BUT I would agree that a profit is a profit after all !!
