Hi TF .. vast numbers ? Seasonal flu accounts for up to 650,000 deaths per year (WHO).. what are we up to with CV ?? With some countries claiming a ‘peak’ already?

Someone dies of cancer every 4 minutes in the U.K. ..... why is that not on a constant news fear loop??

Coronavirus will pass ... cancer won’t ... yet ??

Statistics ... there are so many unknowns regarding CV it’s hard to be definitive !

For instance - we don’t know, and probably never will, how many people have had CV.

We don’t know if countries are counting their victims in the same way or even being honest at all !

We don’t know if a lot of the patients die more because of any underlying issue rather than CV??

With the news on a constant loop we’ve pretty much stopped watching it here and certainly are mindful of our children !! It’s easy to be mesmerised by the statistics ... but there are still many many people succumbing to other conditions still who are just left in the background .... even though there are many more of them !??

Just my thoughts!! Thoughts to all those affected by any nasty disease of illness .. our NHS certainly is a very valuable entity indeed !!

Granted they arnt nice numbers we see every day .. but they arnt the only ones !!

I havnt been following the news very closely recently but do scan the headlines ... I may have missed it but has anyone seen an interview with anyone who has had the corona virus and recovered ?

Back in the day .. would we have all been having 'Corona virus parties' ? like they used to for mumps and measles ??

Yes, it certainly shows a greater depth of understanding when the developers of immunotherapies are not only looking at potential efficacy but also researching the potential side effects, rather than just jumping in and managing them when they happen in treatment in the clinic and accepting them as part of the ‘treatment’ ?

Morning all .. Just an observation .. the views on the recent presentation sit at 153 !!

One of the lowest I’ve seen on a scancell presentation .. one could be disappointed with that I guess .. or one could take advantage ...

With more going on at scancell then ever before it is a surprise that interest is that low .. reflected in the share price too perhaps ...

Let’s hope interest is buoyed by some news in the coming months ...

Just looked in at Val ... it could be a lot worse at scancell I guess !?

I would say the bar has been raised ... but not to 70% ... that gives an impression of false hope for sufferers of late stage melanoma in my opinion ...

Throwing numbers around may well seem harmless but late stage melanoma is still a killer of most sufferers ...

I guess they have to drive a trial using targeted statistics .. as scib1 is the additive treatment to patients already prescribed Keytruda , they have to have a base line to work from as far as any improvement in efficacy is concerned .. as Keytruda is deemed effective in 35% of patients (what that means in actual results I don’t know I.e. time frame/ side effects etc) but I guess looking at at 20% improvement in that number is the target that scancell are at least aiming at ... or better of course ! Lol ..

Any other thoughts on statistics welcome .. it was never my strong point !

Lindy is using numbers generated from Ketruda alone to compare any improvements scib1 is having if any ... Keytruda alone generates a ‘null response rate’ of 35% ... scancell hope to improve this to 55%.
