I'm not sure if you have tried the current state of VR but don't expect anything VR related to go viral. The headset adoption i'snt there for anything to be considered viral. Thinking this weekend will provide insight as to how well MelodyVR will take off is incredibly premature. Give it until next year at the least once we have seen this years headset adoption figures and Christmas sales then we will get an idea how quickly things are progressing. Far to many talking about MelodyVR with such short time frames. Just remember MelodyVR can be an amazing app but without the hardware the app and entire concept of the business is useless. Headset adoption IS crucial to the success of MelodyVR so no this weekend, next month or three months really isn't going to inicate how successful this could be. This is where the less educated investors on the VR market will sell up early and regret it in YEARS to come.

The only comparison you could give for lack of marketing is the same reasons as the PlayStation VR. PlayStation did very very little marketing and they also manufacturered very few units simply because they had no idea on demand so they started small. Makes sense to not stock millions of device when it’s the first of its kind to hit the market and for the company which means no sales figures to go off to gauge how many to manufacture or how much to advertise. All of these big companies know VR is a slow grower due to the nature of it being a try before you buy product so no amount of advertising sells vr headsets as much as people actually trying them this takes time. That’s probably one of the main reasons advertising is not plastered everyone where. Cost would out weigh the return. VR Momentum will build and expeontially at that but it’s going to take people trying device and becoming educated in what they are buying and what potential VR provides for a new medium of entertainment. The public are still very unaware of headsets and what they provide.

No one will know sales figures until either oculus report them or their retailers report them however there distribution network through retailers is super small so wouldn’t give a very good indication. Uk orders should receive from tomorrow at the earliest.

Yes it was using a gear VR powered by Oculus. They may have an exclusivity deal for a little while but that also begs the question why is it not out on rift? My guess is that they are working on the development of the app that has the interactive that support headsets with 6dof controllers allowing you to physically interactive with VR controllers. This was seen in the Instagram posts during the demo days but it not a feature in the current release as the gear VR and Oculus GO don’t support it. This may suggest to me that it’s simply not ready for the other headsets rather than an exclusive deal with Oculus.

I imagine the IPhone app will simply show everything as a normal 360 video and you move your phone around. iPhones can be used with third party VR headsets that do the same as the gear VR but wether MVR will build the app to support that is anyone’s guess. All in time everyone all in time!!!! Still plenty of platforms to launch on and future features to release, we will get the info eventually it’s only just started!!!!

Actually thinking about it I’m not sure if they do combine rift reviews with GO and GearVR. The year old review you reference could be for the GearVR which would make more sense as the apps port over to the oculus go almost exactly as they are. Obviously rift versions are completely different in terms of quality.

This is correct, they are combined reviews. Winds me up when websites do this because experiences on different headsets can be completely different for the same app/game. On the Oculus store they combine the reviews for rift, GO and gearvr.

MelodyVR’s marketing stratergy to date has been spot on. All the people that have moaned and moaned wanting MVR to post updates to 1500 followers at the time amazed me how they really failed to see the potential and still complained. We now have seen the first two artists directly promote their content and direct people to the MVR platform all to a combined 42+ MILLION people!!!! Plenty on here highlighted this marketing potential yet still didn’t stop people worrying and moaning about the silence. Look at the bigger longer picture everyone and really see their long term potential. Artists content is created by MelodyVR, people have to visit the platform to see it they then know about it, just wait until all of the artists start sending their fans there. Hundereds of millions before long are going to be aware at the least what MelodyVR is and you can rest assured once they are convinced to by a headset in future MVR will be the first place these fans of artists head too! That’s not even get started on sold out live concerts! It’s mind blowing thinking of the numbers. No LTH’s are not dreaming they just are not blind to the potential this all has.

Works for me fine. 20mins and 11k likes and 3k retweets, how many of them knew who MelodyVR were until 20mins ago and how many now want to by a GO should they not have a samsung and gear VR to see his content!

Share price is still 50+% up since the start of the month! The big profit in this will be playing the long game. If you are in it for the long game then small swings like today shouldn't really bother you.

Another one I have been watching in the world of VR. TOBII has been in a down trend for along time now and I'm getting a feeling that may change with their recent announcement partnering with Qualcomm for eye tracking in VR headsets. IF only I had more funds to invest in all of these! Good luck to all in any of these.

Besty please do not buy from anywhere in the uk other than the Oculus store. They are all re-sellers. I had issues with my orders last night and today. Three did not confirm or go through. I missed the IPO and subsequently didn't buy as my next lot of funds went into EVRH a while back. Still nothing spare to put into VRE but it is certainly on my radar. Despite not getting in it is good to see some confidence in the Stock. I think it will be a slower growth in the education sector for VR compared to entertainment and gaming but its one to keep an eye on. Another long term hold. I would love to see them acquire the likes of other educational VR creating to bolster their grip on the market, for example MEL chemistry VR that has just been released on the GO https://melscience.com/vr/

Toulouz, Oculus sell direct to the UK, you can by it on there now in GBP and it is shipped from their facility in Ireland, they have just not partnered with retailers yet in the UK or anywhere outside of the US. It will be in stores eventually.
