BrownAdder, there are plenty of posts here that scream panic that have flooded in over the last few weeks. I would probably consider myself one of the more optimistic about MelodyVR's long term success and VR as a technology but from what I see not just here but on other boards/social media there are a large amount of very short sighted and short term thinking posts when it comes to this share and its price, especially so called forecasts.
When Facebook has a 10+ year vision for VR to become mainstream you have to ask yourself are you wiling to be here long term to maybe see what MVR could become because it certainly isn't going to become what some are envisaging in the next year or two but I certainly think it can become the likes of spotify/netflix/itunes etc of their respective industry. You only have to look at what the Oculus research team are developing with regards to the tech like the recently shown half dome headset. Huge advancement here in technology but a long way off before it will reach consumer grade price point and functionality yet they are investing in it now with research in all areas of VR and its all internal too, with a rather large amount of money! These companies are so deeply invested in VR now I can only imagine this will become more of a focus as all areas of VR develop.
So will even a year really give us an idea if MVR are successful? I don't think so because even then we are going to have 5+ years of exponential growth of a new technology trying to penetrate mainstream adoption and how do you define successful to justify a share price when there is no other comparison out there and a technology base that is going to keep improving and improving year on year. The only metric we can use a year from now will be official statistics and earnings aligned with our own expectations and they are going to be vastly different between each investor. I think the parameters of what would be used to decide if MVR are really succeeding are going to keep rapidly moving as headset adoption becomes more mainstream and potential serious competitors also gain more traction, making valuation of the company harder and harder until the VR market growth settles down.
All that said I'm as confident as ever currently that MVR and VR will succeed in the long run but it is going to be very turbulent getting there. Me personally, I'm not too worried about short term price or the next month etc, I have in what I'm willing to loose and will judge MelodyVR's developments as and when they come and adjust my holdings accordingly. GL to any holders whether that be short or long.
