Themis, they always list the new Artists at the top of the performances page: https://melodyvr.com/performances/
Ha thank you. Surprise surprise pretty much all the links I found the other day, didn't find Cypress Hill though! I keep looking for active links but I think they are now making sure we can't see them!
Don't have access to my headset right now, any chance you could list who they are please? no worries if not.
Nice find ScamCap and BrownAdder, cheers.
Horse.mouth I can't help but laugh at the whole ramper de ramper bullS@!t based on whats said in these forums. Any investors with a serious amount of money to move the markets won't be sat lingering on these poxy forums and social media listening to bedroom traders and small time PI's. They will be doing something much more profitable with their time, you are kidding yourself if you think anything otherwise. Same goes for thinking someone at MelodyVR is sat watching this forum hahaha. Most here that are invested long term see the potential VR has hence why they are not crapping their pants at the share price and are optimistic in the long term, anyone with a shorter outlook or less understanding of the VR market is doing the complete opposite and baulking at the drop in share price which is understandable in a shorter term perspective. Each their own when it comes to strategy though and whats right to some will be wrong to others.
Hobbit01, I'm still undecided on the price of Santa Cruz and whether it will hit a mainstream price point. 6dof head and controller tracking with a beefed up mobile processor over the current GO's is a lot to cram into a mobile standalone headset and can't see how they would come close to the GO's price point or what could be considered a mainstream price point especially when you look at the HTC vive focus's price point which I would still consider expensive to the average mainstream potential customer. I have been amazed at the GO's price and how they have hit that point in relation to cost and It really wouldn't surprise me, I'm almost hoping Oculus are taking a loss/break even on the GO and up coming Santa Cruz purely to drive adoption in this first phase of standalone headsets. With Facebook's goal of having a billion VR users and never really seriously being in the hardware space I see the Oculus buy out simply as a play to drive adoption so again might be a contributing factor to such a low price, if this were the case short term it looks crap for Facebook on the books but long term once device adoption grows I'm sure it would pay off for them. So I hope they can amaze us with a mainstream consumer friendly price for the Santa Cruz, based on tech specs I wouldn't expect it if they want to make a profit on the device however if that isn't their plan in the back ground and its all about adoption Santa Cruz could be cheaper than we expect. Fingers crossed!
Elkinator what a load of complete logical sense! Ha I echo your sentiments and have very much expressed almost the exact same opinion publicly in the past. If anyone has done plenty of research into the VR market or at the least followed VR for the last few years they would be well aware of MVR's potential and have a realistic outlook on the time scales we could be dealing with to reach the scale of business MVR could be but I think the ones that are incredibly impatient are the ones with little understanding or background knowledge of VR itself. Anyone that thought launching would mean an explosion into the mainstream public eye is simply deluded, we are just not there yet as an industry to support that size of company. I've said it before and maintain the same opinion that no single app will drive adoption because VR is too much of a try before you buy product, adoption will start slow but will increase exponentially and we are seeing that year on year with incredibly fast development of the technology along side a wider consumer adoption and awareness of VR. I think the people likely to see the best returns and sleep at night are the ones that that keep expectations on growth realistic and conduct good thorough research into the current state of VR across all genres, those two things alone should keep the panic away. With VR being a daily growing infant industry investments will need to be assessed periodically inline with how the industry develops and there is very little to predict that growth or compare too. One thing for sure is that VR is not going to disappear and amongst the growth will emerge top companies within a new space and MVR have more than enough potential to do it with their proposed plans so far providing they can keep up with the industry and maintain a dominant position, all we can do is put our trust in the board and hope they grow into what they intend and that is as quoted 'the iTunes of VR'!
Jeppers I did a bit of research a while back and concluded they were not using the facebook cameras. Mainly because the lens configuration of MVR is different on the sphere itself also those Facebook cameras record stereoscopic and allow users to used 6dof within the footage, MVR's does not allow that and is very much flat monoscopic footage. MVR have stated int the past they have developed their own cameras.
Gozain you need to do a little more research before assuming what camera is being used. They are not using a 2 lens camera, they are using a multi lens spherical ball to capture the 360 degree footage. Go to their social media channels and look for gig photos and you will see the cameras in the back ground. Peoples opinions on the quality are subjective however it certainly is a fact there is better quality 360 degree footage out there. MelodyVR's footage in my opinion is good enough for the average music fan to make them happy enough to see their favourite artist, regardless if their is better quality recordings out their. Just remember a majority of the population are not tech enthusiasts like me and yourself so easier to please.
A few here attended, you could have attended yourself if you had at the least 1 share in the company.
Sorry Teccles I had to address the comparison to the ios app because what yous stated really cannot be used as a reference to the quality of the footage in the headset. its a fact they don't directly translate for a comparison and would be miss information if someone where to believe that. 4k 360 recordings are not the equivalent of looking at a 4k 360 video they are more like looking at a just below full HD video. For reference to what I am going on about!: https://www.immersiveshooter.com/2017/08/31/explaining-360-video-resolution-how-measure-quality-comparisons/
Teccles that is not entirely true and what is shown in the ios app or any 2D video allowing you to drag around in 3D like in a web browser does not represent what you see in a VR headset! A 4k image stretched in 360 for viewing in a VR headset is substantially lower resolution than viewing the same content in a 2D window on a standard monitor or phone screen, I even posted an article explaining the differences a couple weeks back. The Go is more than capable of showing 360 content in a higher res with true steroscopic 3D looking footage compared to what MVR offer and you can see that with your own eyes as proof with existing content out there.
gozain, I wouldn't say the quality is bad but it is no where near where it could be and probably should be. Regardless the entire company and their future plans have endless amounts of potential so for myself I'm keeping my judgements reasonably reserved for quite a while until they roll out all of the features they have publicly stated are coming. I can then re assess where they are at from there.
Yeah sorry Milly, I forgot where the document was and which RNS stated the location. It was the RNS on the 24/05/18 that stated the documents were on their website.
Exactly Jimmy, its the future developments what is important if you are invested long term here. Most are blinded by daily share price though. Gutted I couldn't have been there to ask anything myself.
Read the last rns, I believe it states what would be voted upon.
gozain, you and me both regarding PSVR and tech enthusiast. I have shared the same sentiment on here regarding the material which can be seen in my comment history, Steven does have an interview with dancing astronaut stating they will be recording in 8k and 12k in the future. Im more concerned they are not recording in stereoscopic and simply recording in 360 mono which is basic and less immersive but equally resolution is important. I was meant to be at the AGM today and all I wanted to ask was about the future tech to record their content but unfortunately I can't make it. I have asked a couple others if they wouldn't mind asking but I can't see anyone asking about the tech side of things. Main concern from most comments is share price and communication.
No surprise here, won't be long before china surpasses the US for overall sales. http://www.xinhuanet.com/english/2018-06/13/c_137251526.htm
Ha Whoops, looks like I spooked them...
Have we seen the Kaiserchiefs yet? https://melodyvr.com/performance/kaiserchiefs/
