It's been a while since I popped here, as its relevant to talk of time frames thought I would leave this here as it might put some peoples time frames in to perspective, a little info on how long it took Spotify to gain any kind of serious traction:

Just to clarify I definitely didn't say AM and SH SHOULD move on or suggest they don't have what it takes to take the company to that level we dream of. Not every founder of a company wants to be there long term, that's the only reason I suggested they may want to exit after laying solid foundations and I was merely speculating the reason for an exit could be why we might not have seen the pace of progression many were expecting since launch.

They could simply be silent for strategic reasons or NDA's like being tied up to Facebook exclusively until maybe Quest is launch for facebook to use MVR in marketing like at Christmas, again plenty of reasons for steady progress and lack of solid road map but not necessarily negative.

mycool, No live performances? Not sure what else you would call the Liam Payne show then, it was broadcast 'LIVE' and he was 'Performing'. It was a free event with 15mins broadcast live, they proved the tech worked for its intended purpose and as far as I could tell all seemed to go technically without a hitch and good quality experience.

I think most would agree with your sentiment that something more would have happened by now and I echo that with my own feeling, I had expected more platforms, countries, Live shows, app upgrades and website upgrades etc etc by now or at the least more action towards all of those things with some more detailed times lines.

This is why myself and others are starting to think since release everything may have been setup as a working platform ready for someone much larger to buy them out and take them to the level they can and hopefully will be in the VR industry armed with long term deals with labels, venues, key employees etc and a 2+ year back catalogue of content ready to unleash with some marketing money. MVR's full potential was always likely to take many years not months out of their control as it relies on the development of the VR industry as a whole which is exponentially on the up despite the click bait articles would have you believe otherwise. I wouldn't blame AM or SH wanting an exit and not taking them to the level they could reach, its a long long road to that ultimate success and they have had 3+ years at it so far which I personally think they have laid some fantastic foundations for huge success for whoever wants to take on the challenge of MVR being the number 1 VR music app in the future.

Still think MVR will play out in a positive big way for the Long term holder's just short term its frustrating especially if you are sitting at a loss and the company is so silent, me being one of those at a loss right now to which I am very frustrated but trying to be patient too!

jeppers the google play store NextVR number is only for Googles daydream headset which will have drastically less users that Oculus GO or Gear VR. Anyone downloading the NextVR app (majority) on Gear VR or Oculus GO will be downloading through the Oculus Store which does not show download figures. Just thought that was worth pointing out as the 50k is likely a very unrealistic representation of the figures for the wider supplied HMD's/Viewers.

Ahh ok that makes more sense Cunir, this I had over looked as I connected my facebook account on day one missing out on seeing what features required a FB account. Thanks for clarifying.

kingofkeighley that 150 figure you are throwing about is slightly off, on the 19/12/2018 17:09pm the number of people that had hit interested on the Oculus events tab was 559. Yes that is specific because I just happen to have a screen shot of it and yes its not massively different to your figure but its still almost 4 times the size...

Whilst on the subject of figures on the same day at 17:10pm the Liam Payne Facebook event page for the live stream had 300 'going' and 1.1k 'Interested' with 114 shares. This was about 3 hours before the event. Yes I have a screen shot for that too!

All that being said none of the above means too much, what would have been a better judgement of user figures would have been a live counter in the app of how many were watching, maybe that will come in future when they don't want to scare off the narrow minded investors wondering why there are not Billions watching immediately instead of a few hundred to the odd thousand.

As for expectation of viewing numbers I wouldn't have expected more than a couple thousand tops and that's loosely based on most of the live events in Venues I have watched which only had a few hundred in and at more popular US evening times.

Cunir, I have my GO linked to Facebook, it doesn't stop you using other apps or just Venues. I watched the MelodyVR stream perfectly fine with Facebook linked.

Why are you obsessing over U2 and what has hinted towards it being U2 for first live?

Cunir, keep in mind all the profit may go to VRE but the cost of development per experience is incredibly higher than recording one gig so hard to compare looking at it that way. VRE's experiences are the equivalent to creating a game in VR as they are interactive too, so they have a lot of game developers working on those projects for months. Actually not even worth comparing, the only similar thing we are comparing here is the medium they are viewed in being VR and that is it.

Those views could be any device that has a web browser, we will never know but I'm sure those guys will. AM has said in interviews that their entire content roll out etc is all being analysed to use those metrics going forward for future strategy, you bet they are an analysing it all. Utilising the artist's YouTube channels and offering the odd free song IMO is even better than an artist simply tweeting or posting about their content.Leaves the users wanting more.

As you said too the comments on the whole are very positive even from the people clearly not able to utilise it with a VR viewer etc. Wish this was done with all the artists so far!

Cunir, you open the video in the YouTube app and tap the little goggles icon bottom right. That icon is pretty much universally used to indicate it will open in split screen to then be viewed using a VR viewing device.

As you mentioned though there are some control issue for certain brands and cheap viewing devices but there are solutions for this a couple of which you point out. I think the lack of emphasis on mobile support like this from MVR initially is because its a part of the industry that was basically the initial low cost bridge to experiencing 'VR' for anyone with a smartphone however it will also become obsolete and is already receiving less support hence no new Samsung gear VR or Google daydream viewer announced along with rumours of Samsung producing their own standalone device similar to the GO and obviously google has partners like Lenovo with the mirage solo. We are seeing the beginning of the end already for dedicated mobile VR hardware and support and for good reasons too long to list.

I don't think MVR did anything wrong not focusing on that accessibility initially however with the recent announcement of bringing that functionality to the platform I can only assume the pivot is probably in reaction to initial adoption figures and realising actually at this time the user base is still too niche to generate any substantial viewing figures from dedicated hardware alone. This would look especially bad on revenue in the short term and we have already seen some investor reactions with their shortsightedness to the half year report. Without mobile support this will simply be magnified come the next update on figures and potentially unsettle a few more investors.

All in all I don't think VR companies that aim at the better end of experiences come to market and want to shout about their apps using mobile and VR viewing devices because a majority of those products combined with a multitude of different phones give an absolute trash experience, dedicated gear vr and daydream phone combo aside. Problem at the moment is I don't think VR market is quite there yet to completely exclude that user base especially if your experience can run on mobile phones, in which case MVR's content can. May as well capitalise on as many viewers as possible especially in the early days when support from investors is going to be needed the most to survive what will be a turbulent ride to mainstream adoption!

Jimmy, this is taken from the half yearly report RNS:

'As at the balance sheet date of 30 June 2018 cash
reserves totalled £26 million which at the current anticipated rate of burn will provide the Group with
in excess of 24 months of funding.'

Cash reserves and rate of burn only being referenced in relation to its cash holdings and no mention of revenue so we can assume the cash alone is good for two years. Revenue from live gigs and content will only extend that. Even if there is an economic down turn at the least they can get through a couple years of pain!

On a side note given how markets are currently performing and crazy levels of consumer debt etc etc, with thoughts of an impending crash, an economic down turn wouldn't bother live music concerts too much if anything something like that would favour cheaper VR tickets! IMO MVR would be well placed in either a good or bad economy going forward.

Good job they have estimated they have about 2 years worth of cash to operate! A lot can and will happen in two years especially in an infant technology.

Competition = Innovation. The more the better. As for Bose and VR maybe MG85's reference to BOSE is a slight delayed mix up with their AR glasses they announced they were working on this year. See here for Reference:

MG85 no the Oracle hasn't cashed out, still about in other place discussing MVR just doesn't say anything here anymore. I don't know why but If its anything like I feel myself with regards to the daily chat here then I won't be far behind them. Ever since launch that chat has become a place for nothing but constant daily share price analysis, very very little discussed anymore about anything other than why its up or down on any given day. Each their own of course but from history I would presume that sort of chat was never The Oracles thing. Is what it is I guess.

Themis you will never be happy. They are a VR company FFS not a 360 degree 2D video company. 360 Degree 2D Videos have been about on phones now for a few years and guess what... its about as compelling to watch in that format as watching paint dry. No one raves about watching 360 degree videos on a 2D screen and they wont when you could watch an normal high quality recording in 4k on the same device! The novelty of scanning around in 360 with your finger or mouse becomes incredibly boring and not to mention you have to watch something that looks slightly distorted and at a lower quality than what it could be if shot with a normal camera as standard 2D content!

oh and waste of space until it gets some VR content? wtf is the current content on the app then? Is it mp3 player content because I'm pretty sure it is recorded for VR and requires a VR device to view it.... 'Why the reliance on headsets?' Did you really just ask that.... Melody 'VR' ITS IN THE NAME. What do you not understand about the words virtual reality? The reliance on headsets is blatantly obvious! If you have this out look after all this time on what the company is trying to produce and become you are either servery under educating yourself on what VR is or just completely ignorant.

Optimist, don't forget about the headset that has out sold all other dedicated headsets combined!!! The PlayStation VR for reference. As others have stated no talk about them yet because they have not launched on them!

MG85, I wouldn't expect anything too huge to announce other than launching with the pending manufacturers and having a little marketing help? All should be expected/Assumed based of previous RNS's. I'm not playing those impending announcements down as they are important to potential revenue streams which I will be happy to see but they certainly won't come as a surprise.

I think the current website is literally almost like a coming soon site compared to a fully fledged platform. Once they have all 600+ artists released they won't be able to keep the website as it is. They will need proper search and sorting functions including filters etc. This brings me back to when the website designers work had been found online which shows much more detailed pages with the ability to purchase from the website. Granted yes these could simply be concepts he would have been briefed with potential features so I can't see him designing those features for the sake of it. This makes me think we are going to see a huge website and app update in the future supporting all the upcoming features. Again its the same for the app, they can't continue with the basic app layout as they roll out hundreds of artists, you would never be able to navigate it!
