Absolutely nothing to do with VR

Optimist, couldn't agree more on nothing to talk about. Their recent RNS's state whats to come and now its all about waiting to see the developments rolled out along with content. NDA's or no NDA's there isn't too much for them to scream about other than slowly rolling out more artists and content for existing artists. Key news events I'm personally interested in that I expect larger news coverage on, also all or either confirmed coing or shown in photo/videos: - First live concert, pricing and further scheduling - New platform launches of all platforms listed on their website - New features in the app utilising tracked headset and controllers which was shown in the demo week social media videos. (fully expect these features to only be rolled out when the app is available on a platform that can utilise them, currently Oculus GO and Gear VR cannot)

Nobody seems better placed currently and one would logically suspect they would utilise MVR but should they do that it is surprising a deal hasn't been announced in an RNS or mentioned by Facebook to help promote their venues app. So at this point there is literally nothing to suggest MVR will provide the Music content to Venues but If it happens then great. I just look forward to hearing official news from MVR of what their next development to the platform will be.

If MVR were going to be on Venues tomorrow as part of the launch lineup I think Oculus would have mentioned them with NextVR etc as having an agreement to supply music content for venues. Obviously hope I'm wrong but I don't see it happening. I would suspect MVR live concerts to be in the same format as their recorded concerts, so multiple cameras around the stage to select viewing positions for one person only. Venues is like sitting in a wide cinema screen/ grand stand rather than having 360 views around you.

Good points on the positions Teccles, that completely slipped my mind in terms of offline content. most of the VR porn videos seem to be 30-40+ mins haha not sure who needs that long though... the 1.5 min samples are enough aren't they!? Download of individual songs and picking the angle woudl be ideal in future as currently you cant even watch one single thing offline, a long flight for example would be good to at the least download your favourite songs. But you are right what they have right now is perfectly fine. My main gripe with the 360 video format is that it appears to be filmed in monoscopic so although they have nailed the scale everything is still relatively flat. Sterioscopic 360 video in the future giving depth like the current 180 degree steroscopic videos the adult industry and nextvr produce would be awesome making the entire experience way more immersive. Again all this future potential and advancements in tech for VR is very exciting!

Rumfuddle cheers for the insight into the technicalities. I can only imagine how difficult filming in low light could be and then to add on top having to film in 360 and seamlessly stitch the footage together can only be more difficult.

Elk I would have to disagree on your assessment of the Go's capabilities. This can run footage at much higher resolution than what MVR are providing. Simply see downloadbale VR porn Videos for a prime example, they are streaks ahead in quality over MVR's. The go's resolution is also higher than the rift with better optics! So when it comes to video content it can stream better quality res videos than MVR currently provides. Its MVRs content itself that isn't as high a quality as it could be for whatever reason that is we wont know. I'm no bashing it as I love the product, company and invested for the long term but I'm not going to lie to myself and say their content is super high quality just because I'm invested as its a fact it isn't as high as it could be. The positive from my perspective though is that it is good enough for the average Joe and can only get better.

horse, we are only only on two platforms out of 6. One of those happens to be the PSVR which has sold more units than the other three outstanding platforms combined. You would think they would want to be launching on the other 4 and I'm applying my logic based on their own RNS's which have repeatedly stated they are waiting to launch when the overall headset sales across all headsets equal their targeted adoption figures. So to then offer live events when only installed on 2 our of 4 platforms doesn't line up with what they have said. Doesn't mean it wont happen though, they can do whatever they like and decisions change.

Robidicus, I certainly don't expect to see live gigs until they have launched on ALL platforms they have listed on their site. If they were waiting to launch when headset adoption was at the required level then launching the first live concert before they are available on all platforms to target that number of headsets they have been waiting for wouldn't make any logical sense. That's my guess anyway. AlbertStroller, hard to say because unless anyone has tried exactly what you are on about who knows? All I can say is the quality is good enough for the average non tech enthused music fan. Anyone into VR maybe a little disappointed because so far the quality of what is available is most certainly not as good a some 360 content currently out their. That being said we must remember they are contentiously developing their own recording equipment and have recently stated they plan on recording in 8-12k in the future. Also the content currently on offer was mostly recorded a while back which may have been on inferior recording equipment and post processing compared to where they are at now.

Ha yeah sorry I wasn’t saying they weren’t with older people but they were certainly popular around that time with a broad range of teenagers and not just the music fans of all ages specifically dedicated to that genre of music. I knew a lot of people around my age that generally loved them but never listened to that type of music. Same with a few other groups at the time. That was the rise of the music channels helping with these sort of groups getting exposure like kerrang and MTV 2.

BrownAdder agreed back to EVRH ha. Agree with your sentiment on the last RNS. What has been released now is a drop in the ocean compared to what has been recorded and the future features to come to the platform. That’s what I’m most excited to see, all of the features develop and expanding in to more countries but most of all live event streaming.

BrownAdder, do you really believe the the likes of individuals on these boards and other places online that are not prominat figures in the related industry of a business’ stock really moves share price and sentiment? I personally think it’s BS, I certainly believe in manipulation by the likes of MM’s and very large holders of stock but not by people spouting their nagtive opinions online that is essentially an unknown username like most. Maybe if it was an industry veteran or prominant figure in the music industry appearing here and trashing MVR saying how terrible they were then I would expect it to maybe move price but not the likes of Jack and Jill on the LSE board or Twitter spouting their own agenda to justify their own decisions. That’s what I think it’s really about, people justifying their own decisions to sell or buy rather than pushing an agenda to manipulate price. For give me for maybe being naive to investing but should anyone have done their DD enough to make a self informed decision to buy or sell should they really be affected by (inser_username)’s opinion or public agenda? I don’t see it myself, each their own though.

Nickel, I don’t mind your own personal opinion and everyone is free to add what they like here but seriously what are your intentions of even commenting? I simply cannot figure it out, what are you trying to achieve. You push one agenda daily and add very little constructive conversation on anything outside or a purely negative agenda on the decline of the price. Im also. It suggesting you are An online troll but honestly you are border line looking like an online troll at this point. As I said free to say what you want and It doesn’t bother me seeing your comments every day and I take the time to read them all but can’t figure out what you are trying to achieve or getting out of the comments? I like to try and get something out of everyone’s comments if possible but struggling with your relentless negative bashing of price only related comments.....

It was before a beta, more like an alpha build. I never got try it but I assume it was rather different than the current app and it would have all been in the old style branding.

Puddin that is super old. How you have dragged that up as new news I have no idea but that stems for what, maybe more than a year ago?

Again same outlook here Elk, don’t get me wrong if I could buy low and sell high I would but as I know I’m here for the long haul it’s not something I’ve wanted to risk. I epexcted and voiced a while back before launch I expected the price swings to become quite large especially as the industry alone is in its infancy and for 100 other reasons. I think long term we are going to be looking strong. Once the selling stops we will be left with the long term holders, it’s early days for MVR to disappear off the face of the earth and my own dd gives me plenty of confidence in them achieving much more than what is currently available to the public. Loads to come and I look forward to it.

Not news on MVR but general VR rounour. As Elkinator said I would expect the same sort of structure. Live events will most certainly be a one off payment unless there is some kind of premium subscription model that maybe allows a certain amount of gigs to watch live. Again though the possibilities and combinations of structures is endless.
