It is a good week for Ocado price-wise - normally it touches 400 and storms down to the mid 300s.

I don't own one but apparently it will decode 4kp60 H265 video. I understand it will not play back Netflix at this resolution due to DRM though.

With all the people realising they can't upgrade to Windows 11 as Windows 10 becomes unsupported by Microsoft, there is massive potential for this product for anyone who just needs a web browser, video player and other basic stuff.

RPi 500 will run Linux, but I don't see this as a problem as the Linux desktop reached a record high percentage this year due to the Windows 11 problem.

One of the products I am really looking forward to is probably due to be released "soon" IMO.

If you don't, the story is that someone with an official RPI email address has made public mention of "Pi 500" in the official RPI software repository.

If RPI get it right, the RPi 500 it could be a very cheap, lightweight (portable) and capable desktop replacement. The RPi 400 was a good first attempt at this but not great due its lacklustre CPU.

Report says nothing about new products unless you mean the RP2350. That's one product.

The AI coprocessor board is simply a chip from Hailo bolted onto a plug in board. I am talking about Raspberry Pi colocating a TPU on the Pi board itself and selling it for only a marginal extra cost to create widespread use. £65 is literally double a RPi 5.

Self driving cars will never use Pis for driving. It is many orders of magnitude too slow for vision processing. Maybe one of the top end Nvidia Jetsons can be used in a self driving car, but even then I understand they are too slow.

Industrial robots may use a Pi as a top level controller but the realtime requirements for these mean they most likely have an FPGA or some other vendor's microcontroller running a well-supported RTOS.

What Pis could be used for is the infotainment system. It's up to that job and the numbers are potentially huge in that case (it's probably already being used here).

I think the only similarity between RPI and Nvidia is they both make hardware and software and both do things to a high standard. RPI does not have the complete stranglehold on the market that Nvidia has because I can just go to another vendor who sells a Linux based SBC and stick my program on that. (No one else will run my CUDA program than Nvidia hardware so that is why people are stuck with them.)

Problem then is of course that the software support I get long term from that alternative vendor will be pretty crap compared to what RPI offers.

Take a lot of the comments in jest. Although I post stuff about how the price will drop, I fundamentally believe in Ocado.

The pump and dumps are incredibly predictable so much so that I'm starting to think that I should be trading not holding this share.

IMO it is and always has been a sentiment based stock. That may change in a year or two when it starts to make profit but for now, it is not.

One day I hope it will get big, but the growth will be organic unless they push a Pi with AI coprocessor out of the door in which case it's party time.

It definitely is not a unicorn now or in the near future.
