Surely the fairest way is to tax on a rolling scale . That way the smaller companies will not get hurt so much. Also we got a mention in the FT yesterday. Aberdeen quoted as aying that any additional taxes will damage the smaller companies such as Serica.

i fink taxes should be raised further to re build shanty towns in the far coners of the commen wealth. Serica energy should pay at least 98 per cent tax inmho. Tax tax tax. and lets get a nice china or ruskie as next pm. better stil a sir mascarading as some kind of mp

Personnally i never like takeovers as some of the most talented people get lost when this occurs.For me mergers always wins hands down.

It is actually already our custom to issue quarterly updates. The annual results are issued in April, a further update is given at the AGM in late June, the interim results go out in early September and we issue an operational update in late December.



Last year the relevant dates were:

23rd April

25th June

10th September and

15th December



This year we issued the annual results on 15th April and I would expect the other announcements to be made on similar dates to previous years.

I still hold some shares here and have recently re-invested back into Abingdon as i believe both companies will flourish again and would be interested in your view over the likely hoodd of a merger between the two companies.
We are both aware this was discussed numerous times in the past on this bb and on advfn. However inmv matters have now changed considerably since then. For me it is now more realistic due to Omega no longer being a covid player so very interested and anyones elses view on this.

Why would quraterly reports benefit anyone apart from bogging the companies resources down and paying exhabourent fees to accountants ???.
I agree with Sericas response to my e-mail. My view is we have regular updates and rns announcements. After all this is not a company that has many irons in fire which alter weekly. I.E a pharma with a hundred products going through regulatory trials. i.e phase one,2 3 fda approval etc etc

I emailed the company about a year ago on this and basically they said the following.
We have regular trading updates together with the results which more or less covers this.

Fwiw I added some more today . I think this could now be the time that Abingdon and Omega merge. I mentioned this a number of times in the past,but for me I think circumstances could now suit both parties now that Omega is not involved with the covid side of things.

Fwiw if eigg is a duster I would rather they invest overseas and grow the company further. I am still hopeful they can grow the company together with dividends inmho

I think what Banburyboy mentioned about possibly mothballing eig if it was successful makes perfect sense inmv. Either way as we all know eigg is the catalyst now. We may even yet still have some kind of break from hmg .

We are now in un charted territories inmv. The current bod inmv are the ones to see us through this inmv

Banburyboy. I didn't think about the mothball aspect. So that could be good news for the short to medium term.

A reasonable analysis Banburyboy as to where we are currently at. I think our problem now is how we will grow come next year. As I posted before eigg could prove the be Achilles's heel should it come in . My view is better it is a duster so Serica can then concentrate on pottential overseas opportunities. Fwiw I agree with enhanced taxation,but it needs to be fare. This is not inmho.

In a way I hope that eigg is a duster. As this will allow Serica to move on and hopefully invest in a more tax friendly country such as Morocco.More importantly I hope they are not going after any more UK licenses.

forgot to add . It ends up as a cash transfer so no physical delivery will ever take place. Serica will still be selling its entire gas into the open market , but will loose a part of the advantage due to the hedges. For me when trying to work out what we are actually making i discount the portion of the hedges as this is technically lost revenue at the moment.

We are only partialy hedged and at that at a low rate. So the rest of the gas is sold into the open market. The current hedges were hedged at a low price hence the reason for a large part of the cash reserves tied up until these hedges expire.
In theory if we were 100 percent hedged then we would be selling into the futures market.

I think you may prove to be right shakeypremis. For all we know any potential ns deals could be now be pulled. If it was down to me I wouldn't be doing any deals. Also if eigg is successful I would hope that Serica drags its feet in developing it and does the bare minimum only utilising any tax breaks. That is if there are any left by then

The tax losses remind me as to where we were at a few years back. I agree with Sassa43 and you Newkotb with regards to deals overseas and re char. You simply cannot trust this gvnmt and inmv any North sea deals now could cost Serica dearly in the future inmv

I hope we don't go down this route. If we do then why wasn't the Kistos offer of a merger acceptable
