They explain that cash is down to £31.5m because of high levels of investment in inventory and then, in the same update, say cash will be down by a further c.£20m due to one-off costs related to clearing the excess inventory. Take your point that they may be investing in more profitable lines this time, but that still doesn't sit well with me. Anyway, admire your optimism.

Well, yes it may have gone into inventory, but I'm not so sure it was good business. The recent update refers to "c.£20m of non-recurring costs primarily in two areas", one of which is "additional promotional and clearance activity related to excess inventory in the business". Appears they may have over-stocked and now need to discount to clear?

Unaudited net cash was updated to £31.5m at 30 June 2022.
So, from £107m to £31.5m in 6 months.... at that rate of decline i think funding will be required well before year-end.

Instructive to skim view Made management's presentation in March 2022 of the full year 2021 results.
The new (and out of her depth) CEO and (the since departed) CFO bleating on about the flexibility of their business model and how financially strong the company is with £105m cash in the bank at year end.

My holding in this company is rendered almost worthless, which at least allows me to be bit more dispassionate than I was...
To be honest, I can totally see why the price is where it is.
Firstly, the markets will not easily forgive a company which IPO'd at 200p, just 1 year ago ffs!!, and is already out of cash and requiring a capital raise, which will be at a massive (and I do mean massive) discount to that IPO price... This company's reputation in the investing community has been totally trashed.
Secondly, the longer the company takes to remove the uncertainty by announcing details of the capital raise, the price will likely drift even lower.
Not nice, but that's how it is.

I've been caught out here... but a ridiculous 28% drop (as I write), on top of recent declines, has ironically transformed RCH from a high multiple growth stock into a high yielding value stock, and that's no bad thing in the current climate.

I'll hold for eventual recovery - the well-supported div helping me to be patient.

Dare not be too definitive but it does look as if there's a sustained increase in demand for Boohoo shares lately.
Market appreciating the new returns policy - sees it as prudent self-help.

Now the Chairman get involved - he follows his CEO's buys with a 50K share purchase in 3 tranches last week. Highest price paid: 103p.

I highly rate Ashley - he's a talented retailer. He's also v good at timing share buybacks - a great custodian of his company.

Last trading update (3 weeks ago) says we're earmarked to return to underlying profit during the current financial year and yet the share price languishes down here, 151p.
When I remember that last year I sold some saga for 434p..... it's a joke - I wish I'd sold the bl**dy lot!
