K are you of the opinion that a large covid19 specific conference for science teams to meet and discuss issues, share knowledge, and gain insights should not have been attended by these 3 companies?

If they hadn’t attended would you be shouting what a great call that was.

There are 2 talks. One on how to extract rna, and the other about how to make tests.

Massively technical, I can’t see any chance of market info in these talk. Unless you wear a lab coat everyday it will be Greek to most people.

Expectations of something relevant to share price either up or down are unfounded. These are scientific talks.

Vaccine provides an immune reaction which I think decreases with age of patient.

Flu vaccine often given to the old.

A Covid 19 vaccine might have same profile in older people but if provided in larger numbers might provide better protection in general population.

Powerful tool that can help eradicate this threat. Will take time, and testing is still important before and after vaccines start shipping.

Hi, agreed, but was more trying to point out that for 3 months there have been few tests available. Now suddenly there are enough to allow mass testing even with a delay. 1 million live in the area so 10,000 a week is a drop in ocean. Something will need to take up the slack.

I have no idea about this change of heart, might be current tests have improved production capacity. Thought it might be of interest given Sweden’s strategy to date ( you have to be bloody sick to get a test)

We may well do well from our investment, although to be honest I would rather the second wave didn’t come.

Investment is investment and I have no problem that haven taken risk there is a reasonable reward.

Western society spends money on lots of stuff. So do others but at least we in the west can nominally ensure public expenditure meets what we want.

Should test be provided to less fortunate regimes. As shareholders are we willing to allow some production capacity to be allocated for this even if profit sacrificed?

My own feeling is that global issues require a big solution, bigger than Avacta. Global fund and grants etc. But the world cannot be held hostage etc glad to be invested in something +ve, hope we gain reward and do maximum good.

Maybe cos revenue from testing is unknown, other test will be available and so that carrys risk etc. Payment conditions etc might be odd, and they may eed to move fast now, rather than wait however long it takes to get bigger revenue in (goverments etc are not known for moving or paying fast).

They know they will need 35 million to get through this, and raising now lowers the risk of not having that money available. Better a bird in the hand.....thinking. Given the historical share price they would have said we can roll out standard stuff with funding, but now they see a new worth, they have expanded horizons a little, and can move much quicker with access to capaital.

Maybe someone is sniffing around, but wants an accelerated timeline.

Maybe they just want city mates to get lots of shares at a good price.

New to this board, live outside UK. Mainly invested in US stock. Buy and hold forever.

My time line for AVCT is minimum 3 years. If the test tanks I still like the underlying story, and without to much insight it seems to be a reasonably run small company with a product that can cause a shift in its market. Hopefully in 3 years company is still a growth company, until then the SP will move and it will be a show to be part of. CMG is US had food poisoning scare, got beat up but I could not predict the bottom, so held, believing in the company long term. Very happy today!

I understand others have a different way of making money and short term movement is impt. Good luck to you.

yeah I'm not convinced things are priced in. More I feel that money needs to go somewhere. There is risk but the returns elsewhere are poor and so risk is accepted (especially give fund manager gets paid regardless). Given the levels of some stocks, it looks like there is a strong assumption everyone is going to keep ordering iphones, playing games, and ordering plastic stuff online (US market anyway). If the is a big down turn, iphones etc will probably not be the top of a lot of peoples shopping list.

Holding long on AVCT. C-19 situation/test is +ve for AVCT, in 12 months time scale but I more feel it will give them a spring board to enter other markets as well 3-5 years. Cash in the bank really helps fire a company expansion:-)
