The pre-cision tech is understandable. Wish I knew more about how affimers can be used to treat cancer. Looks like multiple ways not just exposing tumours to immune system.

Affimer today is not used to treat cancer. But the possibility to do so would be by blocking the ability of tumour cells to hide. I don’t know if any therapy has been announced for testing.

Pre-cision is coming online soon in test phase. It allows drugs to bedelivered directly into tumour cells.

That’s two different things, but earlier in the thread it seemed they were being linked. I thought to provide my understanding. RK posted a informative post with lots of long technical terms. I thought a shorter summary might be useful:-)

My understanding is affirmer a protein with two sites of 9 amino acids that can vary. Variation allows lots of combinations some of which will. Ind with different proteins.

Pre-vision is a substate that locks in a drug. Tumour cells produce an enzyme which attack and breaks this substrate and drug is released.

But yeah on the web site it also says they want to do some thing similar with affimers. That’s what I mean with fluffy at least for me as a layman.

I think the company is a little flaky sometimes how it describes its tech.

They do say they want to be able to do targeted cancer treatment with affimers but what they are pushing for that at the mo is a second tech Pre-cesion. It activates and releases a compound when in a tumor cell. They license the patent.

Hi, I wrote to Avacta about your question this week but didn’t get a response. They might be busy, I thought it a good question, would be interesting to know. I like the idea that they multiple products link closely, and results in one area help develop and sell in another. If they respond I’ll post.
