RE: Test Protocols and sales20 Jun 2020 17:21
If you are symptomatic a single point of time test is useful, it will let you know to a great degree if symptoms are Covid19 or just some other nasty bug you picked up. From there you take appropriate action.
In the context of travel single point of time test will be a little useful as they will stop symptomatic and asymptomatic travelers who have infection. That is a very low number as a % of population.
But covid19 has a long incubation period and people can remain infectious for 21 days+. If you get on the Heathrow Express heathy you might get off infected. You would not test positive. You then travel to that lovely beach resort, dance the night away, drink cheap g and t touching glasses, door handles Etc for 2 weeks. You might be infectious for a whole heap of time but hey you tested negative at the airport. Some people you danced with and you might develop symptoms, some not, some will positive at airport on way home, some not cis too early(last night of holiday;-)). Basically horse, stable ...
The point being made is if you were tested multiple days, the infection could be caught early and you and everyone you met has to isolate before it gets out of hand. But dance in your room like no one is watching. Social distancing still applies.
It means travelers won’t be tested once at landing but multiple times following that if it will be effective.
Avacta/awacta will be a big part of ya all being able to dance the night away., maybe not this year but soon. If only they could find the cure for 2 left feet!
