Come on we’ve all seen it on a small scale. In my career as a consultant I’ve seen it unfold for much larger sums. “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know. “ is sadly demonstrated on many occasions.

However I am NOT saying it is/will be the case here. I just said that it is occupying a nagging little space at the back of my mind. And many people believe we didn’t know the right people in order to get the LFT fast tracked.

It’s got little to do with specific industries but new tech is particularly susceptible because they employ influential academics and benefit from university research to do what they do. In return big companies pay for new research facilities in universities etc. the professors don’t want to see their funding dry up and sadly I have seen what this sort of scenario can do to people.

There are going to be winners and losers and a lot of jockeying for position and it isn’t all going to be ethical.

back to my concern that cronyism and politics might delay us again. we all agree that the platform could be mega and replace a number of current drugs. are the big companies rubbing their hands with glee at this prospect and making as easy and quick a path as possible for avacta. or are they looking at the income stream from their current drugs and money invested in developing what they hoped would be their next money spinners and crying into their g&ts.

You are right and over the time I’ve held AVCT my other investments have been doing OK. But I am well underwater with AVCT and I’m mad enough to believe that there is little downside from now on and the potential for a large profit. And I can afford to wait while it plays out. But I put little credence on Al’s timelines any more.

Agree. In hindsight it wasn’t a product that Avacta should have been developing.

And the US is far more honest than UK. I am just saying that those who influence what hurdles AVA6000 has to jump to eventually get to market may not be beyond the influence of the ‘friends’ of BP. I have worked in large organisations both sides of the pond and often profits are a greater incentive than altruism.

So British govt screwed us on LFT. But we have no concerns that BP might be slowing down progress on AVA6000 ?

No one is holding it back they are just being cautious asking for a few more hurdles to be jumped.

As to conspiracy theory it’s not as daft as half the tripe that’s posted on hear. Anyone who has worked in a large multinational will have seen similar tactics play out.

Peeps frequently post on here in defence of extending timescales that it is out of Al’s hands because various committees are involved.

Do you think that BP see Avacta as an opportunity for partnership etc or as a threat to the income streams from their cancer treatments? Is there an element of wanting to delay AVA6000 getting to market? How many of these influential companies have associated figures on the committees that set the “hurdles” that Avacta have to jump?

Most of us on here want AVA6000 to succeed because of the change it could bring to people’s live (and maybe our own sadly in the future) and because we hope to make some money. So can’t you just disagree with other posters without the abuse. PLEASE

Undoubtedly making more money through your business than through Avacta. I’m still invested and hoping to get some return before I die. But if it flops I’ll be hurting but it won’t adversely change my lifestyle.

Good healthy debate on why we are where we are. And interestingly not shouted down by the mad abusive Uber rampers. Well with a couple of exceptions. Judging by the number of green boxes with NYSize against them I guess he must be well overexposed and running scared.

I hope I’m wrong but unlike some others when I say I’ve filtered someone then I have. So for all I know NYSize may have woken up and smelled the cawfee (sic) and posting some sensibly comments.

I’m going to get on with the rest of my investing for the next 6 months or until end of Phase 2 or whatever we are calling it now.
