At the time I recall we were wondering if some back room deal had been stitched up with TF as they walked into 10DS with their box for all the world to see. You commented about the smell at the time! For TF a good free marketing opportunity.
However, the PHE assessment March 16th 2020 did not indicate that the TF test assay had been independently verified at the time of this 10DS meeting. Was the FDA EUA process being used as a proxy for quality?
We also knew that the whole FDA EUA process has been opened to riducule. I suspect they and CDC are no1 on Trumps blame list, moreover with the election in Nov. US may be in trouble with a test program because of the widespread use of poor tests.
So why was the PrimerDesign test assay (that had been lodged and parked with FDA for weeks and had been in the PHE assessment trial) not been down selected by the UK Govt?
We then had the issue of antibodies which showed the further need to test the Tests.
WHO then recommended Roche and PrimerDesign assays, but no TF recommendation. What had the UK selected? Another bad test?
What conformance to positive test cases did the TF test have? This came to a head with the in-house PHE tests assay debacle, which placed the reliance on using comercial tests.
With the NHS and the general public demanding the best test the issue of the TF test assay has come to the fore again.
Our line of questioning from 1/4/20 questions was spot on. We were correct to question the PHE test assessment report, the TF/Qiagen test assays, PPE and even the format of the briefings - feedback is now allowed from the journalist after their questioning.
So we have this line of argument in one hand then Sandman1982 rationale of a tie up with TF and PrimerDesign in the other hand. Again, the people of the UK need to know if Sandman1982 rationale is correct so we know the quality of and have faith in the test. Again political trust is restored in our masters! With the PHE saga, the problems with vaccines, then correct testing is paramount to get us out of lock down. The Govt need to follow the Science ad this absolves them from blame. They are enacting what the scientists have recommended! Follow the Science is heard daily now. I have even added it to my posts!

As an aside, today I am going further and asking about what test assay Qiagen are manufacturing in quantity. Is it the Primerdesign test assay? 20M kits have been reported by Qiagen as manufacturing quantity. There may be 96 tests in a kit. This is massive to holders.
