Some were querying the need for testing earlier.
Carl's test looks a good for:
*  Checks before flights and theatre and ballet and opera, where: a large number of people will be in enclosed spaces for hours; a somewhat more expensive test may be affordable. Including theatre, ballet and opera, and cinema (CINE).
*  Patients turning up at hospital where a rapid high S & S test is required.
*  Repeat testing of hospital, ambulance and care home staff.
*  Repeat testing of police who are exposed to the public.
*  It would be good if teachers could be tested, as well, as they, too, are putting themselves at risk.
* School children
* Taxi, Bus drivers (who were high risk groups in Wave 1).
*   Testing staff involved with critical infrastructure like: power stations; water; sewage; air traffic control.
* Care home testing.
*  The navy before setting off in a warship and at intervals during a mission.

Seems like there are lots of applications for the Carl's test, if you really want to be sure, even if there is a fairly effective vaccine.

Haha, even with > 95% efficacy, vaccine availability is the bottleneck.
Testing will be necessary until herd immunity is attained!

Newbie, there is only 3 ways out of a pandemic
1. Vaccine + testing
2. Therapeutic(s) + testing
3. Mass testing + Track n Trace + Isolation

Common denominator is testing.
Present tests do not meet the requirements fir mass testing, based on accuracy (sensitivity snd specificity) and speed for result!!

Previously, notification took 2 days.
If BRH did sell at the peak of 6-7p, then an RNS may be due tomorrow or Thursday.
Could add £15M + to the coffers, which is greater than present market cap!

Foreverwaiting, don't forget Porton Down passed 3 LFT tests as ok on a lab test basis. For that matter, the Optigene LAMP test was supposed to be a 20 minute test that matched PCR. LAMP was trialled in Southampton Hospitals and Gibraltar. The results warranted inlusion into Operation Moonshot.
It was only later that both these test assays were deemed inaccurate. Personally, I am amazed by such discrepancies. Southampton Hospital was using LAMP with great success. I really wonder if some form of manufacturing error has crept into the test process...
No matter, the results are what they are.
Should it tar other LFTs? I hope not. But NCYT as per their RNS today, aint hanging around.
The window is closing. Sir Al must deliver shortly otherwise wave 3 in Spring is the focus and we are competing with the vaccine rollout!

Mowzerrocks, the danger is someone rolls out the LFT for Care Home testing without the additional PCR test that the NHS letter recommends, or worse someone is tested negative with the Innovate LFT during the mass test rollout and visits granny!!
