gold5 you may have missed the RNS out yesterday after hours with some detail on the de-merger process. It looks like there will be a temporary UK listing for JXN from what I can make of it. No mention of any special dividend.

Yes it would, but you didn't know it would happen. Investing in shares is rarely easy or straightforward.

Bankfool, my broker is HL and in the past they have always been really good at answering questions - not so good now, maybe they are over stretched who knows. Regarding MNG that wasn't so much of a worry as they were fully UK listed and sold them luckily in December 2019 before everything went pear shaped. I did re buy some MNG after the crash for a pound lower so got really lucky there. Overall as you say without trading the lows the return hasn't been great.

Makes you wonder what they have in plan for that 722 Million USD in the bank. Must be earning next to nothing in interest and we are only getting 50 % of profit after tax so the cash pile will continue to grow.

I'm still waiting for my broker to answer my message about plans for JXN, maybe they won't at all. Small shareholders are never considered worthy of help with corporate actions it seems.

Hopefully just a bad day at the office, as it has had a decent rise off of the lows of only a few weeks ago. I can't see the March 2020 lows again unless something really bad happens on the Macro front.

Had HL down 11% yesterday, this today down 3% and maybe tomorrow Prudential will deliver the coup de grace! Starting to think individual shares are not the best place for most investors as fully understanding a business is not easy. Looking to go more into Investment trusts to spread the risk and let the pro’s deal with reading all these reports.

Last time he sold there was an RNS minutes after the closing auction the day before the shares dropped a lot. So we will see but I suspect this solely down to market not liking the results.

I think you hit the nail on the head. I thought costs would not have risen so much, this is not good news at all. 3 percent loss after tax in exceptional times for online investment platforms is almost a disaster. Very disappointed in the drop but totally understand why it has dropped this much. Old Hargreaves must be spitting feathers this morning.

Jatw, thanks for your thoughts on this. My shares in in an ISA so not too worried about further tax implications. I might message my broker and see what they are planning to do. It will be interesting to find out what the value of each jackson share will be.

Barclays cut RIO by 150p, always makes me laugh they should get their own house in order with their piddling penny share dividend. I've been invested here since it was changing hands at £19 a share and must of had about £14 a share in dividends in that time plus over 200% share growth. Of course everyone has their own strategy and trading can yield impressive returns but this a share I just leave alone.

I wonder if nominee brokers will give you an option to take the cash from the sale of Jackson shares rather than have to worry about selling them yourself as I am not currently registered to trade foreign equities, although my broker can provide that service. I only stand to gain about 17 Jackson shares at 40:1. I know it said less than 10,000 share holders will be given the option to sell but if you are holding in nominee then the broker will appear as the named shareholder on the register and likely to exceed 10,000 shares.

dividenddata . co . uk is a great site for checking when all your shares go ex-div, amounts payable and pay date. I don't always trust this site for things like that.

Overall it seems good, but shareholders need a bigger slice of the pie and no increase in dividend is disappointing. Either they are holding back with further acquisitions in mind or don't want to commit to it if profits are expected to fall as Matt says.
Either way this needs a rocket up it just to get it even to fair value imo.

Part of the reason why I sold out of here last year. It's the principle of it, they don't know the financial positions of all shareholders and some may have been in need of that money. All our financial regulators are a joke, cronyism and elitism through and through. Some years ago when Beaufort securities went under the FCA were forced to pull the plug on them smartish because of being investigated by US authorities for stock manipulation and the FCA were sleeping at the wheel. They appointed PWC who wanted to charge outrageous fees for the administration and return of client funds, anyway that's another story.

Results for full year are due next week on 22nd. Lets hope for some decent ones and hopefully a reversal to our current decline!
