Prognostic, look at some high yield investment trusts and infrastructure funds. You won't get much or any growth but no sudden 10-15% falls in share price based solely on a competitors results. I like HICL, 3IN, HHI quite a few others to look at.

AJ Bell to release a commission free trading app aimed at younger inexperienced investors. Zero commission puts huge pressure on this to do likewise, or reduce fees.

Regarding the new mutated SA variant it's too early to know if it is more harmful or vaccine resistant than previous variants. As usual the market is getting it's panic in early, at least some volatility for plus! I personally have had enough of the whole covid situation, had both jabs be sensible and live your life.

Holding shares here is like a slow death. The dividend is nice and I have done well out of it over the years, but that yield can be got in safer shares and investment trusts for less risk.

Those shares are part of their payment based on conditional performance awards given in two amounts over the next two years in June 2022 and June 2023. Nice work if you can get it! Had a small buy here at 300.2p today.

Plus have gone into the non leveraged investment market as did IG some years ago. Looking at the IG revenues the non leveraged business is tiny in comparison with what they make on the leveraged side. Splitting into two companies does not seem worthwhile. I for one would not trust Plus with holding my SIPP or ISA personally, yes I know it's covered by the FCA compensation scheme and all that but not for me.

I agree with you. Long term coal is going to be in decline, but we knew this before COP26 so not really a lot has changed imv.
Before coal can be phased out or down for electrical generation, alternatives have to be in place or the locals will get restless!
Short term coal prices will be set by supply / demand and coal has declined significantly from it's summer peak so there is some normalisation going on with the share price. I took a small holding here on the day of the large fall over a week ago at 287p so I could have made a quick buck and sold last week but hey ho.

If they want to de list it they can have my shares for £20 ! in fact I was holding when these touched that 3 years ago and didn't sell up >.<

I read the results last night after I noticed the JXN price jumped after hours. It will be interesting to see what happens at the NYSE open. Added some extra JXN just to round up my holding and make it worthwhile holding @ 28$ a while back.

The dividend could be more generous in my view, as each year the cash in bank position keeps on growing. whether they need to hold more cash for regulatory/hedging reasons as the customer base keeps on growing maybe one reason, I'm not sure.

Of course but patience is always required. The only thing that matters here is the price of iron ore, which at the moment has come way off it’s peak. I did read somewhere that Beijing has ordered some steel mills to pause or reduce production to lower pollution for the winter olympics early next year. Mining shares often rally and decline in long time periods so strong stomachs are needed. I have been through the mill many times before with Fres, Glen and Abg all different beasts fore sure, but Rio has been the best for me.

The market was expecting an interest rate rise which the BOE bottled as usual. HL hold huge amounts of cash and even a tiny move in interest rates can have a big effect on the bottom line.

This potential class action lawsuit is crippling the price right now. Should have sold when the news broke but didn't think it would have caused such a drop as we have seen these stories before.

Market is pummelling us and competitors CMC and PLUS right now so I do not believe the debt raising is the issue for the weak share price right now. It will be interesting so see what they intend to do with the funds, but as mentioned could just be working capital.

In the article it mentions PLUS 500 CEO Yevgeni Schtuckmeyster. The current CEO is David Zruia. There is no one listed on the Plus500 website as a director of the company called Yevgeni Schtuckmeyster as far as I can tell.

Share buy backs are announced at results time and make up part of the shareholder returns package. They are not done randomly just because the share price is cheap for whatever reason. The next results are not until February usually.

I suppose the the thing which is more worrying is if PLUS acted improperly rather than the amount concerned.
