Yes JXN has had real pasting since the 10th of Jan down some 16% but I'm still well in the money buying at $28 and $37.5.
Pru continues to underwhelm massively and no results until March 9th. Maybe because it has such a low yield now it is getting dumped in these high inflationary times?

Rates up to 0.5% but no real bounce here or lloyds which is very interest rate sensitive. Still good news for the billions held by HL.

Not happy with another big fall today after promising results yesterday, but I have seen it so many times before with this share. I keep telling myself to sell it but I just keep on holding for that little bit more of a rise because I think it should be worth much more fundamentally.
I was buying here back in 2014 firstly in the £5 range and traded a bit since then so I am well in profit overall but it is frustrating and any newcomers buying north of £8 may need to be very patient.

Well down on SMT here with a 1341 average. Bought much earlier this year right before it crashed down to around £10.

Didn’t take take profits a £15 and paying the price like a lot of us. Nasdaq finished well down tonight and the tanks haven’t rolled in to Ukraine yet! Next week could be ugly, very ugly indeed.

From dividenddata the two payments were separate - I wasn't invested here then so received nothing.
This share is subject to Luxembourg withholding tax on dividends at 15% so your 25p is the gross amount, when you knock off 15% you get 21.25p. Not a lot you can do about it I would think. I have only realised this after buying a few shares so a lack of due diligence on my part.

Yes thank you pru for spinning of JXN. My initial JXN holding was tiny like most other holders at 40-1. Thankfully I decided to load up just to give me an even number of shares as I don't like tiny or odd holdings. I expect most pru holders dumped their JXN quite quickly because it was almost insignificant.

Similar thing happened with Anglo American and Thungela resources (TGA) , Thungela now absolutely flying since it got spun off.

I notice PRU has had no recovery from the omicron drop unlike all the other insurers and the FTSE in general. I wonder if the Evergrande situation in HK is having a negative impact here?

South Africa is trading today current price TGA 85.2 Rand so /21.4 = 398p UK DI price.

With the Indonesia export ban maybe China will turn to South Africa to help plug the gap?, could be good news for Thungela but others will understand the situation better than me.

Impossible to say as coal futures from Jan 22 onwards aren't looking clever right now. Next week might bring more clarity with the holidays out of the way bringing more volume.

You may have done already but I have filled out a W-8BEN online form with my broker before the dividend was paid that allows a reduced withholding tax rate to 15%.

First Jackson dividend payment was received today net of 15% withholding tax. I wish I had loaded up with more Jackson and dumped pru.

sold a few yesterday @344 when I saw coal getting whacked, surprised this has held up reasonably well so far. Still got 2/3 of holding and will see what happens.
