RE: Full year results date confirmed as 25th November13 Jul 2025 13:39
My guess is that it will be a good trading update but with forward caution on the impact going forward, including the impact of the recent French air traffic dispute. If this results in a drop to 490 or below (not wishing for it) I’ll start doing a series of small top ups. The 483 to 487 range worked for me last time (although I don’t do TA, there did seem to be support at those levels a while back).
I’ve made mention a lot about the Southampton to Glasgow route. There are a number of reasons I’m interested; first, it is my local airport which I feel could serve more routes. Second, it’s interesting to see how a relatively new route (three years this September I think) grows, both in revenue/loads factors and the days of operation. Looking into next year there are flights on more days of the week than previously , 6 and 7 days for many months with only January dropping to 4 days.
Southampton airport has a very large catchment area with 45/60 minutes travel time. It has excellent road and rail connections and a very good alternative to Gatwick for the routes served. I’m not sure how the Southampton to Amsterdam/Paris routes are doing (I may dig a bit further if I get the chance) but I’d like to see EZJ flourish at Southampton. I’d love them to dip into the Edinburgh and Jersey routes; the former is served by Loganair of course and they also served Glasgow but ceased not long after EZJ launched. For Jersey, other operators serve it of course but fares are relatively high; the last time I checked the cheapest one way was £80. easyJet have quite a number of hotels available for their holiday side. If I could take a nice three day break direct from Southampton it would no doubt be a least two to three times a year; but I’m not travelling to Gatwick to do it.
If anyone at EZJ reads this Board how about dipping a toe in the water; morning flight Edinburgh to Southampton, hop over to Jersey and back then afternoon back to Edinburgh (crew change, then a further 4 flight circuit elsewhere). Test it out for say, 2 or 3 days a week. Wishful thinking on my part of course!
GLA. Let’s hope that the trading update doesn’t induce a “Savage” response!
