I never say my viewpoint is always correct. But equally I don’t post here only when the SP only goes in one direction. But I’ll answer your question. To me an over speculator is someone who takes excessive risks and loses sight of the possible downside. A speculator is someone who takes considered risk and is prepared to take the consequences; I’m in that latter group.

@Savage. Can you please define what an “over speculator” is. When does a speculator become an over speculator?

Yes, 486 or thereabouts has worked for me again it would seem, small top up yesterday when limit order kicked in. I don’t do TA but have noticed that it tends to get a bounce around that area.

@Xhita and others. It’s an interesting point about dividends, buy back, etc. IIRC some years ago (way before I got into shares) I’m sure I read an article in a Sunday paper where EZJ were criticised for paying out too high a dividend. I believe there is a case for dividends but it shouldn’t be at the expense of the long term health of the business. I didn’t get into EZJ for the dividend, I believe in the fundamentals and long term SP potential. With the dividend paid this year I simply recycled it to buy more shares and I will probably do same next year when/if the SP is favourable. No dividend would send the wrong message, too high likewise. What the correct balance is is a separate matter. If the fundamentals of capital expenditure, debt management etc are all in place then I think a dividend is in order; but not as a priority.

Small limit order very nearly triggered today, I think it may be in the morning but perfectly happy if it’s not.

@Stille. Agree re booking a flight, there’s been some very good fares (for the company!) and high load factors on the dip samples I’ve done of late.

@Basillika. I’d be surprised if they did not raise the percentage of PAT to at least 25% or even 30% for March. A good balance of solid sustainable growth and reasonable dividends will, in my opinion, raise the SP over time. I’m medium to LTH with decent headroom (average SP circa 379) and am happy to bide my time. Looking at small top ups if it goes sub 490.

Boring Southampton update. Glasgow today 183/186 booked, tomorrow and Wednesday (no flight Tuesday) both 186/186. Even Southampton to Paris is sold out today 186/186. This is the first time I’ve seen the Paris route sold out. Even Southampton to Amsterdam today is 145/156.

I’d be surprised if EZJ were not considering expanding routes from Southampton.

I believe in being honest and open when I make a mistake. My earlier mention of 8 days being sold out was wrong; it’s 6 but I could have sworn the other two (Friday and Saturday) were when I looked. I nevertheless expect that will be.

@Xhita. Interesting you saying about upscaling aircraft. As many know (and no doubt groan about!), I follow a specific flow; Southampton to Glasgow. I’ve recently been tracking load factors. From last Friday through to this Saturday there are 8 flights. All have been/are sold out and 7 of them are 320s with 186 seats. So over the 7 flights thats an additional 210 seats over what they would be if they were operated by 319s. It’s my perception that 320s are increasingly being used on this route, no doubt to reflect demand. Those extra 30 seats on each one must be pure operating profit over and above. And the fares are nearly always £100+ and often over £200.

BTW, scratched record here about Southampton to Glasgow. Sold out from today through to Monday. All operated by A320’s so that 186 seats per flight. No flight on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday circa 74% sold, next Friday sold out (again 186 seats). A money spinner. Average load factor from Wednesday this week to next Friday 93.3%.

@Savage. For the third time of asking, can you please point me to anyone on this board who is ramping? As for speculating, aren’t the shorters speculating? You don’t have any EZJ shares, you don’t short when you are so certain that the SP will fall. I respect your right to not short or buy, but what is your point, what is your motive? Why do you only post here when the SP drops? Where is the sub 400? Why, simply, why, do you do this. An armchair critic with nothing in the game?
