The potential here is massive IF Genedrive can deliver both a better high throughout assay to market and a point of care / critical decision portable product to market. Reading up on this most of yesterday (yes I have the time now ;)!) it seems like we have a big benefit over the Novacyt test for high throughput labs. Their kit seems to be separate components for primers and probes and reaction mixes prior to dispensing and the lyophilisation seems to be for shipping not storage. Genedrive's offer is pre-aliquoted so you just add sample, like their cartridges. Why is this important? Because it saves time so you can do more tests per day which is where PHE want to be - 250k tests per day. It removes a major bottle next of preparing plates upfront. Really smart move on Genedrive's part in my opinion. If they can then deliver the same lab test in something like Genedrive, which is already being used at point of care by the US DOD for biothreat and by the NHS for AIHL then wow, you have a test that could be deployed to GPs, hospitals, portable testing vehicles. Long term look at the biothreat cartridge, it tests for lot of different things at the same time. Could their be a COVID19/Influenza AB cartridge next which would confirm longer term if a patient has flu or if COVID is re-emerging? This may die down at the end of the year but testing is still important. And that's just the UK, what about the global demand for the Genedrive products? This really is an interesting time for us Genedrive shareholders!
