doubt it, this is a huge market, bigger than any other single diagnostics market that has gone before. Think about it, before diseases like HCV and TB were big, but confined to a minority of the population. This test is required for the entire population. Currently there are 8+ strains of SARS-COV-2. The disease could change and re-infect like flu. This is not going away any time soon imo and we need many, many, many and ore tests and testing device. The Fuji announcement didn't say if it was a test or a system. the 2 hours seems like it maybe a faster test rather than a platform. For me they key is having the same test on the existing platforms and a POC version. Thats where Genedrive is different and if successful they'll be very successful.

A good summary from Mikey, if the same test is being run in the lab and outside then there's consistency in the testing, something that's really important so you can count on the validity of the results. It's a great combination and the Genedrive board were quick to spot that. Couple that with the fact that all the reagents are pre-dispensed (The Novatyt ones are not) then you just have to add the sample, speeding up the process and making it much easier use. Genedrive have a number of tests they've done before so they know what to do.

Each test starts with a sample, if you can test there at the time the sample is taken you reduce time and save logistics time and cost. As David Budd says in his interview Genedrive is almost uniquely positioned to do that as closest platforms still need a lab.

The whole diagnostics industry is focused on finding solutions for COVID testing. I should imagine ImagingBiometrics will be looking at automating lung scan analysis as part of their effort here. Does anyone know what clinical value that might have in terms of longer term treatment analysis? We know Covid decimates lung tissue, presumable some analytics are required to check progression of healing and recovery - I understand lung tissue remains scared

Diagnostics is set to make a resurgence in terms of investor sentiment. Genedrive is one of the few truly point of care units out there, plenty of tests that could be put on the platform. It's already in the NHS testing AIHL and with the US DOD so its a proven platform. As the company creates new tests it should create a nice position for itself... Next year this could be at the £2-£3 range imo based on existing test uptake...

Last DOD order cumulative look to be ca. £3m, new order for 500 units and associated assays should be significantly larger, say $5m. AIHL assay worth up to £3m per annum in the UK, now on market. HCV potential larger but say they are the same its looks to have somewhere in the region of £6m-£7m per annum lined up in products now on market. At 5x multiple this would be £35m mc or £1 per share. This is without COVID or TB which is their other assay, both even larger markets. Potential for £2-£3 per share when on market status announced. imo

I can easily see a market cap of £50m in short term.

Genedrive have a number of tests and contracts. Testing of Genedrive currently in the NHS for antibiotic indices hearing loss in children (1 in 500 children treated with gentamicin will become deaf, this test says if a child is predisposed, 90k per annum in UK, 10m world wide), and used by US department of defence for biothreat detection, just ordered another 500, and Hepatitis C virus. Lots going on here and you've bought at the right time imo. LTH here.

You need both, PCR for active (and in the future current strain) and antibody for past (and in future previous strain). Both types of testing is going to become very important in the future.
