We should see a continued appetite to invest here this week, as an offer its compelling. Re-reading the RNS the risks are all around continuity of supply of reagents and nit the fundamental technology which has been proven now in commercial product. I'd love to know who the large manufacturing partner is, anyone any ideas? who made their cartridges before?

I reckon from looking at various sources that about 65%-70% is tightly held, so about 12M-15M in 'free' float for trading.

Doubt they'll be news for a week or so, like lockdown its feels longer than its actually been since the announcement, we are only 3 weeks out of 8 on Wednesday. I suspect we may see something in week 4 or 5

Petty sure there will not be an announcement this week, its only week 3 out of 8, week 4 would be 22 so could see an half way update? Acquisition could be on the cards, interesting times!

Once the covid test is available you can bet DOD will use genedrive to test in the field too, so that order could increase

And if the price per test is say £10-£20 per test that's a huge turnover, £2.5m-£5m per week...

Indeed Troy, I suspect the BD failure was due to an over exuberant CEO rather than the excuse given at the time, after all the Genedrive unit is the same today as it was then!

Hi Hants, for me it’s around spreading risk. Genedrive alreay has product in market and shown to work. They are applying this to Covid like novocyt in 5at respect. Genedrive is already in the nhs and also used by the us DOD, they bought lots of units in the past and just ordered 500 more with the test cartridges.

avacta as far as I see have never converted their tech into a commercial diagnostic product, do you know otherwise? Something you can buy today off the shelf? I’m not share why not, partnering with a supplier doesn’t solve that, it could be just good salesmanship?

For me genedrive is underpriced and has potential as its products are in market. My opinions only, if avacta have a commercial diagnostics product with proven clinical sales my opinion might change!

Troy agree, but remember there were less shares in issue. I think this is easily a £100m mc when sales come in and the market values are realised. Before that I think a £35m mc or £1 a share is achievable and no where near the £70m cap it had in the days of Walls. Blimey we’ve both been in this a long time!

I think the large majority of the 10,000 tests per hour will be in 96 SARS-COV-2 product, these are pre-dosed plates that go into the test labs that have larger qPCR machines for high throughout tests from what I can see... The same test though is being rolled out for Genedrive POC device, that has a lower test capacity but I suspect these will also be sold for rapid testing at sights like A&E or GP or smaller remoter test centres... It could be great!

if they progress their test we will see a lot of upside, definitely >£1 / £35m market cap imo

I'm guessing nothing updated this week, but I hope next week will see some news on progress. We know they are already working with a large manufacturer, if others can say who then Genedrive can too. But, they'll only do that when they are confident of early testing, that must be happening

definitely more news on the way, obvious I guess, but I think it may be sooner and not in 5-6 weeks time...

It's rapid compared to existing technology and can be deployed at point of care an in labs so could be used in chemists our portable test centres. It probably will use saliva or a swab, definitely not blood because its not an antibody test, that's for if you have had it, not if you currently have it.

From the published information 30-40 minutes, this compared to 2-3hrs for lab based qPCR
