You’ve got to say Danaher have a bigger global reach than PrimerDesign/Novacyt so if they end up being a sales and distribution outlet (and why not?) then Genedrive will be very successful worldwide. A test with technical advantages, long shelf life, and packaged to fit in with the gold standard systems from Abi and Roche - then overlay a commercially available portable point of care platform used by the NHS and US DOD. Wow.

Would be nice to start the day with an RNS around distribution in certain territories like the US... looking very encouraging and I might add just at the value brokers said it ought to be at before the Covid pandemic and before it’s other tests were on market.

... the more I'm convinces that Cytiva will act as distributer of this product world wide - they have the reach and it would be a good way to share development costs and profit. Logistically Genedrive couldn't run an effective sales and distribution of this product, but Cytiva and their parent company Danaher most assuredly could. Let's wait for that one to drop in the next week or so!

Agreed, and I think scale is a given, the issues referred to are availability of raw materials and from what I read it’s the enzymes that are used as key componentS that is in short supply. If anyone can ensure supply and manufacture it’s GE Healthcare! As I mentioned yesterday I think the test is already validated, ie there is already confidence around performance and now it’s scaling up production for a launch next month. That surely will double the share price, and following on from that the potential for a POC test, again that would double share price. So my targets are £1.60 on launch of the current product and £3.20 on availability of the genedrive POC test. That would give a £112m market cap... covered by sales of the test

Agree, the GDR board are very professional in what they release and when and the claims they make. I think this is all tracking well and sensible statements give me confidence we can expect a launch in May.

Hi Class, thanks. I'd like to know the price per sample being tested. From my digging anything from £10 to £100 is a good ball park. Even if this is lowered because its high volume I think this is a £100m turnover product for the business. Could be spectacular.

Another technical advantage is also stated on the webpage, it is "more tolerant of emerging viral mutations than other PCR technologies". This is really important because if like flu the virus mutates, you need to have an assay that doesn't fall over. It seems Genedrive's test takes this into account somehow. I don't see any other test being talked in those advantage terms...

with that in mind this will fly, a 96-well assay using industry recognised dry down formulation from GE-healthcare to run on existing instruments from ABI and Roche, stable at room temperature for months to allow stocking and simply add sample. Really exciting and should see LTH rewarded for standing by the business.

Public Companies have to be careful what they say so it is interesting on the website that they use the term "Validated sample types" for both "Nasopharyngeal swabs and Oropharyngeal swabs". Validation is a very specific term and is “verification, where the specified requirements are adequate for the intended use”. So, the Company is already confident that the assay works as intended when samples are taken using swabs. Why is this important, because I think the test is already complete and the process is now manufacture for launch. We should see an announcement maybe even this week on small validation studies with clinical samples!

That's an interesting thought, it could allow screening of US military etc both home and abroad so would / could make sense

So PrimerDesign (Novacyt) revenues are about £8m. each test in Genedrive when it scales has the potential to match this - layer on covid and you have to say the valuations could get to parity?

reading between the lines the fact they are now announcing the partner suggests they are confident in performance, they specifically excluded mentioning the partner in the first RNS and I suspect it was because of that confidence. Now that they have it I suspect a string of announcements over the coming few weeks.

Thanks B2HS2L, yes I found that also but nothing on actual data from clinical samples comparing sensitivity and specificity by third parties. Hopefully that will come.

Testing long term has to be distributed POC, you can't ease lockdown and wait 1-2 days for positive results to come back and risk infection during that period. We will have to have large numbers of mobile test centres around the UK. Genedrive can lead the way on the qPCR side - the most sensitive testing method out there.

Please can anyone point me to a clinical trial paper for the Zika test? All I can find is internal company reference.
