Within a few years there will be power cuts in many streets in britain because of overloading of the circuits - guaranteed.

Wtf, I am no fan of UKOG but how can these judges say that oil will inevitably be burned and ignore that it might be refined into say fertiliser , enabling plants to grow and adsorb more co2.

This country is becoming a basket case. We were bankrupt before the ruling and this is just ridiculous. Never mind , as the UK gets closed down 1% of worlds co2 will be removed from the atmosphere , which will surely help as last year was a record for fossil fuel use thanks to China and India. Fordm, sending their money out of uk to their families is a good thing for their families but it deprives the local economy of cash, which is a bad thing for the local area, unless of course there is significant cash rolling in from outside as in the oil rich states. Yes we were and could still be an oil rich country and for that I do blame our government.

Ford, areas become run down when there is a lack of investment both private and public. Fact is lots of communities send money abroad rather than spending it locally on home improvements and this adds to the poverty and down trodden appearance which can spiral when noone with any cash chooses to buy there. Gavster, all the while this country uses plastics and other products made from oil we need our own oil and gas industry - so its closure could and should be a century away unless our politicians decide otherwise. We really are heading for power outages under labours plans because the local electricty networks will not cope with demand and there is insufficient time to reinforce them even if we could afford to do so.
